What is Overpower Damage?

Overpower damage is a damage type that is based on the sum of your character's current HP and Fortify HP. Overpower damage is shown as Teal colored text when damaging an enemy.

How to Maximize Overpower Damage

Has a Flat 3% Chance of Proccing

Overpower damage has a flat 3% chance of proc chance. This percentage cannot be increased, so take that into consideration when you're trying to create a build focused on Overpower damage.

However, although you have no way of raising those chances, other sources such as Skills, Paragon, and Aspects for certain classes do offer guaranteed Overpower procs.

Use Skills or Aspects that Guarantee Overpower

There are various skills, aspects, and even Vampiric Powers that allows you to get guaranteed Overpower attacks. This will allow you to override the low 3% chance of Overpower Triggers by relying on other conditions to use Overpower attacks.

How to Determine Overpower Procs

To know if you have dealt Overpower damage, you'll know that it is one if you see a Teal colored damage text from the enemy. There are no other indicator to know aside from watching for Teal texts during the battle.

Overpower Damage with Critical Strike Damage is Colored Orange

While Critical Strike Damage is normally colored Yellow, it will turn to a much deeper Orange when Overpower Damage occurs simultaneously.

Overpower Affixes

+X Maximum Life
(Helm/Chest/Pants/Rings)
Whenever you increase your Maximum Life, you increase your Overpower Damage.
+X% Overpower Damage
(Gloves/Weapons)
Directly increases Overpower Damage.
+X Willpower
(Found in all except Jewelry)
Willpower increases your Overpower Damage Multiplier
+X% Willpower
(Amulet)
Your Overpower Damage multiplier scales with Willpower
+X All Stats
(Found in all except Jewelry)
All Stats also gives Willpower, which then raises your Overpower Damage multiplier.
+X% Overpower Damage with Two-Handed Bludgeoning Weapons
(Chest/Amulet - Barbarian Only)
Specific for Barbarians, this increases Overpower Damage when using Two-Handed Maces
+X% Overpower Damage with Werebear Skills
(Chest/Amulet - Druid Only)
Specfic for Druids, this increases Overpower Damage with Werebear related skills.
+X% Fortify Generation
(Chest/Boots/Rings - Barbarian, Druid, and Necromancer Only)
The amount of Fortify you have also directly increases your Overpower Damage.
+X Ranks of the Brute Force Passive
(Amulet - Barbarian Only)
Specfic for Barbarians, this allows you to deal more Overpower Damage when using Two-Handed weapons.
+X Ranks of the Tides of Blood Passive
(Amulet - Necromancer Only)
Specific for Necromancers, this allows you to deal more Overpower Damage, especially when Healthy.

After swapping weapons 8 times, your next non-Basic Attack will Overpower and deal (30-50)% increased Overpower damage.

Necromancer

(Offensive)
Whenever your Blood Skills Overpower you gain (20-50)% Attack Speed for 4 seconds.
Aspect of Untimely DeathAspect of Untimely Death
(Offensive)
Each percent of your Maximum Life you Heal beyond 100% grants you 0.5% bonus Overpower damage on your next Overpowering attack, up to a (20.0-60.0)% bonus.

Barbarian

Skill Effect
Brute ForceBrute Force Your Overpowers deal XX% increased damage when using a Two-Handed weapon.
Gushing WoundsGushing Wounds When causing an enemy to Bleed, you have a chance equal to your Critical Strike Chance to increase the Bleed amount by 100% of your Critical Strike Damage bonus. Overpowering a Bleeding enemy creates an explosion that inflicts 11% Bleeding damage over 5 seconds.

Druid

Skill Effect
ProvocationProvocation When you remain in Werebear form for at least XX seconds, your next Skill will Overpower.
Ursine StrengthUrsine Strength While Healthy, deal 25% increased damage, and 25% increased Overpower damage.

Necromancer

Skill Effect
RathmaRathma's Vigor After being Healthy for 12 seconds, your next Blood Skill Overpowers. This timer is reduced by 2 seconds each time Blood Orbs Heal or Overheal you for an amount greater than or equal to your base Life.
Tides of BloodTides of Blood Your Blood Skills deal XX% increased Overpower damage. This bonus is doubled while you are Healthy.

Effect: After you spend 300 of your Primary Resource, your next Core Skill is guaranteed to Overpower. Your Critical Strikes that Overpower deal 80-120% increased damage.

When your Core Skills Overpower an enemy, you spawn 3 Volatile Blood Drops. Collecting a Volatile Blood Drop causes it to explode, dealing 60% Physical damage around you. Every 20 seconds, your next Skill is guaranteed to Overpower.

Note that Vampiric Powers are only available in Season 2.
