⚫︎ The Rematch team has shared more details about upcoming Betas and the recent Antidote tests. ⚫︎ The developers of Rematch have shared new details on two core gameplay systems: Ball Control and Push Ball, both central to how players interact with the ball during matches.
Ball Control is a passive mechanic that activates when a player moves close to the ball. If the ball isn’t in a “Powerful” state (more on that in a future update), the player will automatically gain possession. This interaction is triggered via the player’s Control Hitbox, initiating a short, interruptible pre-animation.
Possession is confirmed at the end of this sequence—unless disrupted by another player, a change in the ball’s state, or a directional input that cancels the action, such as choosing to let the ball continue to a teammate.

⚫︎ In a recent gameplay update, the developers of Rematch have introduced the Tap mechanic—an agile and versatile way for players to release the ball while in possession. This follows the earlier reveal of the Shoot system.
