The most important thing to do when farming Legendaries is to set your difficulty to the highest you can handle efficiently. Higher Torment Tiers significantly boost the chances of obtaining Legendary, Unique and Mythic Unique items.

Use Tributes in the Undercity

Using Tributes in the Kurast Undercity offers the best method for targeted farming of specific Legendaries. Tributes allow you to choose a specific characteristic the Legendary rewards would have, such as equipment type, the type of Legendary Aspect they have, or the type of Affixes.

Gamble at the Purveyor of Curiosities

Spending Murmuring Obols at the Purveyor of Curiosities is a great way to farm Legendaries of a specific equipment type. Each item purchased has a chance to be Legendary, so stock up on Obols and activate the Urn of Curiosities in your Season Blessings, if possible, for better odds of a Legendary.

Farm Infernal Hordes

The Spoils of Greater Equipment chest at the end of an Infernal Horde drops a lot of Legendary gear and is one of the most effective ways to farm Ancestral Legendary gear. This chest requires 200 Burning Aether to open. Make sure to run your Infernal Compasses on a comfortable difficulty or with a party to maximize potential rewards.

Do Headhunts and Rootholds

Headhunts and Rootholds are the seasonal mechanic from Season 7: Season of Witchcraft and rewards you with a significant amount of Legendary items. The Exposed Roots that you can encounter in these locations drop a lot of loot, especially Legendaries, at higher difficulties. Make sure to do the Whispers when doing Headhunts to spawn Exposed Roots to get more loot.

Clear Helltide Events and Open Tortured Gifts

Helltides are regions where you can roam and kill as much enemies for Aberrant Cinders and opening as much Tortured Gifts as you can. Use your Baneful Hearts to summon the Blood Maiden for extra loot and more Forgotten Souls.

Sell or Salvage

If a Legendary doesn’t fit your build, you can either sell it for Gold or salvage it for crafting materials. Sell them when you need Gold, but otherwise, salvaging is the better option.
