The quest Whispers of the Dead can be started after finishing the Campaign in Diablo 4. Learn the quest location and rewards, as well as how to start Whispers of the Dead!

You will get the Whispers of the Dead priority quest after finishing the Main Story. Speak to Lorath in order to start the quest to unlock the Whispers of the Dead Events.
The Whispers of the Dead priority quest will only appear in your Journal after the credits roll. Finish the main quests to unlock this end-game specific content!

Whispers of the Dead Events are harder, end-game challenges that will reward players with Grim Favors. These events are scattered throughout the map, and has a set time before disappearing.
How to Complete the Tree of Whispers
Grim Favors are the main rewards for completing Whispers of the Dead Events. Simpler challenges will grant 1 Grim Favor, but harder Whispers of the Dead Dungeons can reward players with 5 Grim Favors at a time.
Once you have 10 Grim Favors, you can offer these to the Tree of Whispers in the Writhing Mire in exchange for an equipment Cache of your choice. This can prove to be very useful, especially when farming for specific gear.
