Diablo 4 - Activate Shrines Preview

You don't have to do anything special to save your progress in Diablo 4. The game has an autosave function that saves the player's game progress through their Battle.net accounts, so it automatically logs every action you make in-game.

This function is also related to their cross platform, crossplay and cross progression support for all platforms which allows the players to continue their progress just by signing into their Battle.net accounts.

Exiting the Game Resets Instances

Diablo 4 - Malnok Stronghold

Exiting the game while you're inside a Stronghold, Dungeon, or instanced quest resets the instance and you have to start over from the beginning. While your items and level remain unchanged, it's not recommended to abandon the instance midway.

Make sure to finish any instances or strongholds, gather your rewards, and travel to a city to avoid losing any progress related to a quest!
