Status Effects are the different skill-based buffs and debuffs that can affect both your character and your enemies in Diablo 4 (D4). Read on to view a complete list of all Status Effects found in the game.

Status Effect | Description |
---|---|
Barrier | Generates a shield around the target that absorbs damage from all sources up to a specified amount. |
Bleeding | Target takes Physical DoT (damage over time). |
Berserk | Grants 25% increased damage and 15% increased Movement Speed for a certain duration of time. |
Burning | Target takes Burn DoT (damage over time). |
Chilled | Movement Speed is reduced. Targets repeatedly affected by Chill will be Frozen. |
Control Impaired | Player is under a crowd control effect (Stun, Slow, Immobilize, etc). |
Darkness | Reduces Visibility and prevents Skills from being used while affected. |
Dazed | Cannot attack or use Skills, but affected targets will still be able to move. |
Fear | Affected target loses control and flees away from the caster. If affected target is the player, they will have no control until the Fear duration ends. |
Fortified | Target takes 10% reduced damage. Fortified activates if you have more Fortify than your current Life (HP). Also applies to Barriers. |
Frozen | Cannot move or attack. If AI enemies are Frozen, they can also be Shattered (insta-killed). Shattered enemies cannot be revived. |
Immobilized | Rooted and unable to move, but can still attack and use Skills. |
Immune | Cannot be damaged and all negative effects are removed and prevented (within the effect duration). |
Knocked Back | Target is pushed back. |
Knocked Down | Target gets toppled. Cannot move or attack until the standing animation finishes. |
Poisoned | Target takes Poison DoT (damage over time). |
Slowed | Target has reduced Movement Speed. |
Stealth | Cannot be directly targeted by enemies. Using an attack or taking damage will instantly remove Stealth. |
Stunned | Cannot move, attack, or use Skills while the effect persists. |
Taunted | Target is forced to target caster. |
Tethered | Target is locked into a specific area. |
Unstoppable | All Control Impairing Effects (CCs) are removed once active. Also prevents you from being affected by CCs for a short duration after activation. |
Vulnerable | Affected targets take 20% increased damage. Appears as purple shatter marks on the health bar. |
Status Effects are the buffs and debuffs that affect the player or your enemies when using Skills in Diablo 4. Their effects can range from lowering defenses, casting CCs and loss of control, or simply granting your character temporary invincibility during combat.
