All Alchemist Features

The Alchemist is an NPC in Diablo 4 (Diablo IV) that allows players to craft Uber Unique Items, upgrade their health potions, craft powerful elixirs and incenses, and refine surplus resources. Uber Unique Crafting

With the release of patch 1.3.2, a new feature has been added where you can get an Uber Unique Item of your choice by spending a certain amount of Resplendent Sparks. This allows players to dispose of any duplicate or unwanted Uber Uniques in order to get the one they want.

Uber Unique Crafting is also available to players on the Public Test Realm (PTR). In addition to the Resplendent Sparks, you will need to spend 50,000,000 Gold for crafting.

Get Resplendent Sparks By Salvaging Uber Unique Items

Resplendent Sparks can be earned by heading to the Blacksmith and salvaging any of the 7 Uber Unique items. Unlike other items, salvaging an Uber Unique will only drop 1 Resplendent Spark so be sure that you're fine with getting rid of said item.

Health Potion Upgrading

One of the Alchemist's most important features is health potion upgrading as it allows you to improve the potency of your character's health potion. Spend Crafting Materials and Gold to upgrade your health potion after hitting certain level milestones during your playthrough.

How to Upgrade the Healing Potion

Elixir Crafting

The Alchemist also allows players to craft Elixirs that can boost different stats and increase your characters survivability during combat. Additionally, most Elixirs featured offer increased experience gain, perfect for power-leveling and quickly reaching endgame.

Refining Resources

If you find yourself running low on certain types of Crafting Materials or needing to farm region-specific items, then you can also head on over to the Alchemist and refine some of your surplus resources into materials you currently need. Below are all the available refining recipes:

Incense Crafting

Incense can be used to apply a certain buff to the user and all nearby players. Only one Incense can be active at any given time and all Incense will only be active for 20 minutes.

Additionally, as of the Season 2 update, incenses provide a bonus to experience gains and their effects persist after death.

How to Unlock the Alchemist

Complete the Prologue and Arrive at Kyovashad

To unlock the Alchemist, players will simply need to complete the main story Prologue of Diablo 4. This will unlock Kyovashad and the Alchemist NPC available inside the city.

Reach Level 10 to Unlock the Alchemist Priority Quest

To unlock the priority quest Health Potion Upgrading, you will first need to reach Level 10. After doing so, the quest will automatically unlock, setting a waypoint to an Alchemist that will walk you through the steps of upgrading your Health Potion for the first time.
