Bartering is a new feature introduced in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred allowing you to purchase a variety of items using Pale Marks earned from Mercenaries. Read on to learn how to use the bartering system, how to unlock it, and where to find it.

What is Bartering?

Bartering System - What is Bartering
The Bartering System is a new feature introduced in the Vessel of Hatred Expansion, along with Mercenaries. Here, you can spend the Pale Marks given by your Mercenaries on various Equipment, Aspects, and Materials to help your endgame progression. Keep in mind that some items will only be available after reaching a certain Rapport Rank with your Mercenaries.

Bartering System - Upgrade
To upgrade the stock of the Bartering Vendor (Fayira), you need to unlock and raise the Rapport Rank. To make the most of the Bartering System, you must reach at least Rank 8 with all four Mercenaries.

How to Unlock Bartering

Reach Rank 5 Rapport on Any Mercenary

Bartering System - How to Unlock
The Bartering Vendor NPC will not be available until you reach Rapport Rank 5 with any of the four Mercenaries. After reaching Rapport Rank 5, return to the Den and speak to the Mercenary you leveled up. At that point, Fayira will appear at the center, surrounded by all the Mercenaries.

You can find the Bartering Vendor NPC at the center of The Den in the Nahantu Region. Please note that this area is only accessible if you have purchased the Vessel of Hatred Expansion.
