Diablo 4 (D4) features expansive content with many activities after the main story campaign. Read on for a list of activities to do after the campaign and which activities you may want to avoid doing too early!

What to Do After the Campaign

Proceed to Higher Difficulty Tier

Once you complete the game's campaign, you will likely be sitting at the phase of the game where you'll have a fully leveled-up character who has unlocked their Paragon Boards or is close to it.

To be more efficient with leveling and strengthening your character, moving the difficulty tier higher to Torment will be recommended to start getting more experience points and obtain Ancestral gear.

The Vessel of Hatred is Diablo 4's expansion content and will continue the main storyline of Diablo 4. It will also feature an entirely new area for players to progress in as well as new questlines, bosses, and events to do.

Strengthen Your Character for Endgame Content

Endgame Activity Notable Rewards
Renown Milestones Your utmost priority as Renown Milestones will grant not just your current character but all other characters in your account permanent stat boosts and additional skill points.
Tree of Whispers Grants occasional rewards once you complete their objectives which can be a great source of legendary aspects and gold.
Infernal Horde One of the most efficient ways to farm gem materials, gold, and aspects
Helltide A great source to farm Legendary items and aspects while also getting materials for fighting boss ladders later on.
The Pit Your main method for upgrading glyphs and is one of the most mandatory events you'll need to do to increase your glyph's power and make your character builds stronger
Tempering Adds additional affixes to your gear and makes it more specialized for your current build.
Nightmare Dungeons Nightmare Dungeons is an empowered version of regular dungeons that can reward the player with multiple crafting materials for gear masterworking.
Gear Masterworking Increases your current gear's stat affixes. This will be your main method of “leveling or upgrading” your equipment.
Dark Citadel
(Vessel of Hatred exlcusive)		 The Dark Citadel is a new co-op challenge that can be done from the Vessel of Hatred expansion where you'll need to venture the dungeon with other players to defeat multiple bosses and enemies across three individual areas until reaching the dungeon's ultimate challenge.
Undercity of Kurast
(Vessel of Hatred exlcusive)		 A multi-stage timed dungeon that can be a great source of experience for leveling your character's paragon board while also being able to tweak its reward via tributes for targeted farming methods.

There are several activities to do after completing the game's base content. Preferably, you would also do this in a seasonal character and do unique seasonal content to boost your leveling and gain extra rewards in your journey. Overall, you'll want to strengthen your characters to prepare yourself for the game's toughest endgame content.
