Unlock the Tree of Whispers

Diablo 4 - Tree of Whispers
One of the first things you should do immediately after completing Diablo 4's campaign is unlocking the Tree of Whispers. You can do this by completing the Whispers of the Dead Priority Quest, which you receive immediately after the the end of the main story.

Features the Whispers of the Dead Bounty System

Greater Collection of Tree of Whispers Reward
The Tree of Whispers provides the Whispers of the Dead bounty system, where players can complete tasks to earn Grim Favors.

Turning in 10 Grim Favors at the Tree of Whispers rewards players with of choice of three reward caches, each of which contains a variety of items, including Legendary gear, Gems, Crafting Materials, and Nightmare Sigils (World Tier 3 and higher).

How to Complete the Tree of Whispers

Complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon

Diablo 4 - Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon Entrance
After unlocking the Tree of Whispers and gaining a few levels, consider challenging the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon to unlock World Tier 3 (Nightmare difficulty) and its bonuses, challenges, and other new features. While we recommend taking on the Cathedral as close to Level 50 as possible, beating it is feasible at Level 45.

You can find this Capstone Dungeon in the northern section of Kyovashad, but you can only access it after the campaign at World Tier 2 (Veteran difficulty).

Reach Level 50 to Unlock the Paragon Board

Diablo 4 - Glyph Socket in Paragon Board
We also recommend hitting Level 50 as soon as possible to unlock the Paragon Board and your first set of Paragon Glyphs. Paragon Boards provide players with unlockable nodes that offer a variety of stat bonuses and passive buffs.

The Paragon Board will also be your primary skill progression system in the late game, as you will start earning Paragon Points instead of Skill Points at Level 50 and beyond.

Reach All Renown Milestones in Each Region

Once you've finished the campaign, we highly recommend aiming to reach all Renown milestones in each region of the game. All five regions have their own set of Renown Milestones, rewarding players with plenty of Skill Points, Potion Charges, Murmuring Obols, and Paragon Points, which will drastically improve their endgame quality of life.

Participate in Helltide Events

Diablo 4 - Legendary and Unique Loot from Tortured Gifts (Helltide)
After reaching World Tier 3, one of the best ways to get Experience and farm Legendaries, Uniques, Fiend Roses, and Forgotten Souls is to participate in Helltide events.

Earning Aberrant Cinders in Helltide and opening Tortured Gifts, especially Tortured Gifts of Mysteries, will reward you with plenty of high-level loot. In addition, the event's high mob density and various World Events are great for gaining Experience and earning more levels and Paragon Points.

Join a Clan for Group Activities

Diablo 4 - Clan Benefits
With Diablo 4's endgame featuring plenty of difficult content, consider joining a Clan or forming one with your friends. While Clans have no specific in-game benefits or rewards, having a community of like-minded players you can group up with can provide you with a smoother and more fun endgame experience.

Endgame Activities to Avoid or Save for Later

Avoid Changing Your Build Often

Diablo 4 - Increasing Respec Cost

Due to the increasingly high cost of refunding and respeccing Skill Points, we highly recommend sticking to one build and avoiding any major build changes in the late game. Prioritize spending your Gold on extracting Aspects, Health Potion upgrades, and other substantial quality of life purchases and upgrades.

What to Buy and Spend Gold On

Save Nightmare Dungeons for Later

Diablo 4 - Save Nightmare Dungeons for Later

While Nightmare Dungeons are a good source of experience, loot, and Paragon Glyphs, you won't be able to take advantage of their benefits until you reach a higher Paragon Level. Consider saving most of your Nightmare Sigils when you've opened your second Paragon Board and unlocked a few Socket Nodes.

PvP Mostly Provides Cosmetic Rewards

Diablo 4 - Fields of Hatred Odds and Ends Vendor

While PvP in the Fields of Hatred can be fun and exhilarating, the Red Dust you earn mostly goes toward cosmetic rewards or Fields of Hatred-only consumables. Unless you're fully invested in PvP, we recommend participating in Helltide events and Tree of Whispers bounties instead for character progression.
