Diablo 4 - What is Crackling Energy

Crackling Energy is a type of Sorcerer offensive buff that deals Shock Damage to nearby enemies in Diablo 4 (D4). Read on to learn more about Crackling Energy including what it is, how you can generate Crackling Energy, and a full list of skills, enchantments, and aspects that give Crackling Energy.

What is Crackling Energy?

Energy Charges that Deal Shock Damage to Nearby Enemies

Crackling Energy are blue orbs of power that can be picked up from the ground, similar to a Necromancer's Blood Orbs. However, unlike the Necromancer, Sorcerer Crackling Energy is an offensive buff, allowing you to deal Shock Damage to nearby enemies so long as you have charges of Crackling Energy left in your arsenal.

Crackling Energy Charges are Displayed Above the EXP Bar

The number of Crackling Energy charges you have will be displayed above your character's EXP bar. When Crackling Energy damages nearby opponents, it will consume a charge. However, unlike some of the Shrine buffs that also grant periodic AoE damage, Crackling Energy will only trigger if enemies are nearby. If there are no enemies, Crackling Energy charges will not be consumed.

Crackling Energy is Exclusive to Sorcerers

Diablo 4 - Sorcerer
