List of Contents
Crackling Energy are blue orbs of power that can be picked up from the ground, similar to a Necromancer's Blood Orbs. However, unlike the Necromancer, Sorcerer Crackling Energy is an offensive buff, allowing you to deal Shock Damage to nearby enemies so long as you have charges of Crackling Energy left in your arsenal.
The number of Crackling Energy charges you have will be displayed above your character's EXP bar. When Crackling Energy damages nearby opponents, it will consume a charge. However, unlike some of the Shrine buffs that also grant periodic AoE damage, Crackling Energy will only trigger if enemies are nearby. If there are no enemies, Crackling Energy charges will not be consumed.
Crackling Energy is a type of offensive buff that is only available to Sorcerers. During the early game, players who want to make use of Crackling Energy will have to invest in the Shock Skills of the Sorcerer's Skill Tree.
In order to generate orbs of Crackling Energy that can be picked up, Sorcerer players will first need to equip a Skill or Enchantment that generates Crackling Energy. Once equipped, you will start getting the drops during combat, allowing you to have passive DPS outside of your attacks and Active Skills.
At Level 15, Sorcerers will be given a quest called Legacy of the Magi which unlocks the unique mechanic for this class called the Enchantment Slot System. Once unlocked, players will be able to put unlocked spells into an Enchantment Slot, giving them a unique modifier that enhances their currently equipped skills.
To check if a Skill has Crackling Energy, hover over the different skills in the Sorcerer Skill Tree. Their added effects will be listed under the Enchantment Effects section of the tooltip.
