Shard of Agony is one of the components needed to summon Duriel in Diablo 4 (D4). Read on to learn more about Shard of Agony, how to get it, how to use it, and its overview.

You can acquire the Shard of Agony by defeating Grigoire in World Tier 4. Note that you can fight Grigoire starting in World Tier 3 but the Shard of Agony will only drop in World Tier 4.
The Shard of Agony is a guaranteed drop from Grigoire; however, do note that only the player that summons Grigoire will receive a Shard of Agony.
You can summon Grigoire by acquiring Living Steel during Helltide events. You can obtain Living Steel by opening Living Steel Chests found within the Helltide with 300 Aberrant Cinders.

The Shard of Agony can be offered in the Pestilent Altar located inside the Gaping Crevasse dungeon. You would need a total of 2 Shard of Agony together with 2 Mucus-Slick Egg to summon and fight Duriel.

All Pins This button is shown along with the Icons on the right when there are over 6 types of pins. Click it for a full selection of all available pin types. | |
Counter Tracks the number of pins you have of a certain type. The pin type shown is set to the page and currently cannot be changed; however, all pin type counters can be viewed by clicking the checklist icon on the right side. | |
View All Counters This icon is found on the right side of the Counter. When a map has more than one pin type, click this icon to see Counters for all pin types. | |
Zoom In / Zoom Out This icon is found on the top left side of the map. You can press these buttons, or use your scroll wheel while hovering, to Zoom In and Out of the interactive map. |
Note that the Gaping Crevasse will only appear on the map in World Tier 4.
