Skipping the base game and VoH campaign will allow you to start the Season 6 questline and the expansion content earlier in Diablo 4 (D4). Learn the pros and cons of skipping the campaign on a Seasonal Character.

Should You Skip the Campaign?
Skip the Campaign to Access Season 6 Content Earlier
Skipping the campaign allows you to immediately start the Season 6 Questline in Zarbinzet as soon as you create your Seasonal Character. Therefore, skipping the campaign in Season 6 is a better option for most players, especially those who have already completed the campaign.
Players will not miss out on anything by skipping the campaign except to experience the story presented in the campaign quests.
Skip the Campaign to Level and Progress Faster
Leveling up becomes much faster with the earlier access to the Seasonal mechanics, Helltides, Dungeons, Tree of Whispers, and other late-game mechanics. Powerful Legendary Aspects can also be obtained earlier to help with gearing and faster progression.
You should skip the campaign if you want to progress to the end-game as quickly as you can.
Do Not Skip the Campaign to Experience the Story
For newer or returning players, it may be best to complete the campaign first to experience the story and familiarize yourself with the game's different gameplay and gearing systems.
Going through the campaign also helps organize your progression through collecting the Altars of Lilith, Waypoints, World Map discovery, which will carry over to future seasons along with he renown tied to them. Your mount can also only be unlocked by completing the Mount: Donan's Favor Act 4 quest.
If you choose to skip the campaign, you will permanently miss out on this option with your new Seasonal Character.
How to Skip the Campaign in Season 6
Complete the Prologue with Another Character
To skip the campaign on Season 6, select the Skip Campaign option while creating a new character for the Season. This option becomes available upon completing the game's prologue.

Can You Skip the Vessel of Hatred Campaign?
Can't Skip the Expansion Campaign on First Playthrough
The Vessel of Hatred Expansion campaign cannot be skipped during your first playthrough. As you progress through the expansion campaign, you’ll be introduced to various expansion-exclusive content, including the jungle region of Nahantu, Mercenaries, Kurast Undercity, and the Dark Citadel.
After completing the Vessel of Hatred Expansion campaign once, you will likely have the option to skip it when creating a new character.
