The best way to farm Restless Rot is to defeat Headrotten monsters you can exclusively encounter in Headhunt events or Roothold dungeons. The drop rate of Restless Rot scales primarily with Difficulty tiers so taking on higher difficulties will result in even more drops.

Season 7 features three new Season Blessings for Witchcraft, yet the most important blessing would be the Urn of Rot as it can directly boost the quanitity of Restless Rot by up to 40% dropped. This will greatly help you farm for Restless Rot better but only lasts until the end of the season so keep this in mind.
Make sure you have enough Smoldering Ashes since you will be needing this to acquire the Blessing.
Best Season Blessings (Season 7)
Draught of Whisper is a season 7 consumable that can increase the amount of Restless Rot that you can obtain from Headrotten monsters. Make sure to pop a Draught of Whisper before farming Restless Rot on Headhunts and Rootholds to maximize your Restless Rot gains.
How to Get Draught of Whispers

The new Season 7 Questline introduced a new NPC called Gelena, who allows you to craft Rotting Caches that provide Restless Rot on use in exchange for Fugitive Heads. A single Rotting Cache can reward as much as 300 Restless Rot in one use so consider including Fugitive Heads into your farming routine by delving into Rootholds to accelerate your Restless Rot farming.

Witchcraft Powers are a new mechanic introduced In Season 7 that is available across all classes. You can unlock them by spending Restless Rot at the , or upgrade them in your own inventory.

Occult Gems require Gem Fragments, Fugitive Heads, and most importantly Restless Rot. The amount you need to craft one depends on the tier of Occult Gems you are crafting so make sure you have enough to get the Gem stats you need for your build.
