Pale Marks are an exclusive currency used to purchase items at the Bartering Vendor in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. Read on to learn how to acquire them and discover the best items to purchase at the Bartering Vendor.
What Are Pale Marks?
Currency Used for Bartering
Pale Marks are the new currency introduced in the game along with the Vessel of Hatred Expansion and the Mercenaries. This currency is used to exchange for various items available at the Bartering Vendor. They can also be used to restock the supply of items listed in the shop.
How to Get Pale Marks
Defeat Enemies to Raise Your Rapport
Pale Marks are rewarded as you raise the Rapport Rank of your Mercenaries. Make sure that you have a Mercenary equipped to receive the Rapport XP. The higher your Rapport Rank, the more Pale Marks you will receive. Additionally, although the highest Rapport Rank is 10, you can continue leveling up your Rapport indefinitely to earn more Pale Marks.

Boss Summoning Materials to Farm Uniques
Whenever possible, try to purchase all the Boss Summoning items available in the Bartering System. These items are extremely important, especially in the endgame where farming uniques is required to optimize your build.
Aspect Caches for Codex
Aspect Caches contain multiple pieces of legendary equipment with random aspects, depending on the type of cache you purchase. You can use these early on to find equipment with Greater Affixes and begin completing your codex.
Equipment with Maxed Aspects
Lastly, if you're trying to maximize the effects of your Aspects, you can use the Bartering System to look for Legendary Equipment that you can salvage to obtain the highest possible roll on your Aspects.
