Is Diablo 4 an MMO?

Diablo 4 Is Not an MMO

From the game's official Battle.net store page, Diablo 4 is described an "action RPG" with no mention of it being an MMO.

While it does borrow several social features from MMOs, such as an always-online multiplayer world and several hub cities where players can meet, the game prioritizes providing a solid action RPG experience and keeps most multiplayer aspects optional.

Open World Events

There are also plenty of randomly-occurring events in Diablo 4's open world, which players can participate in and help fellow players to receive rewards, such as loot, Experience, and Murmuring Obols.

These events include World Events, short side activities that take a few minutes to complete, and Legion Events, which involve taking down several waves of high-level enemies.

Fields of Hatred PvP

Diablo 4 - Fields of Hatred PvP

Players can also engage in PvP in Diablo 4 through the game's Fields of Hatred. In these locations, players take down demons and each other to collect Seeds of Hatred, which they can purify into Red Dust.

After collecting enough Red Dust, players can spend them at Unsavory Oddities Vendors to purchase a variety of items including cosmetics, mounts, and random pieces of equipment.
