To give thanks at a shrine and receive a random buff, players will first need to read the inscription on the statue. The word spelled in capital letters will be your clue as to which emote you will need to use.

Once you've read the inscription, stand inside the purple circle on the ground and use the correct emote. If done correctly, the statue will light up and you will receive a random buff.

Do Faded Plaques Have Fixed Spawns?

Spawns are Random and Can Vary Between Playthroughs

Shrine spawns are not fixed and are not marked on the map. They can appear at different areas and their spawn locations will vary between your playthroughs. Unlike regular shrines, these statues offer buffs that are geared towards exploration rather than combat.

Shrines Can Be Reset by Changing the World Instance

While spawns are random, shrines can technically be reset by resetting your current world's instance. This can be done by either entering and leaving a Cellar or Dungeon. However, do note that this requires one to be near a shrine for it to work.
