Diablo 4 Rarity Characteristics |
---|
|
As items increase in rarity, the number of affixes they can drop with increases, making higher-rarity weapons and armor more powerful and sought after. While progressing through the game, aim to have Legendaries, or at least Rares with four affixes, in each of your gear slots to maximize your character's power!
Item Rarity | Number of Affixes |
---|---|
Magic (Blue) |
・1 Inherent Affix ・1-2 Regular Affixes |
Rare (Yellow) |
・1 Inherent Affix ・3-4 Regular Affixes |
Legendary (Orange) |
・1 Inherent Affix ・4 Regular Affixes ・1 Legendary Aspect |
Unique (Beige) |
・1 Inherent Affix ・4 Regular Affixes ・1 Unique Effect |
Legendary Aspects and Unique Affixes can be distinguished by the Star (★) symbol beside the affix.
Item rarity also affects the types of Upgrade Materials you obtain from salvaging them at the Blacksmith.
For example, only Rare-quality items and higher can yield Veiled Crystals when salvaged, and only Legendary items above 400 Item Power yield Coiling Wards, Abstruse Sigils, and Baleful Fragments.
You can extract Aspects from Legendaries at the Occultist, allowing you to save their unique effects and imprint them onto Rares and other Legendary items with stronger stats later in the game.
Prioritize extracting Legendaries instead of salvaging them in the early game to stock up on potent Aspects to improve your late-game build!
Unlike other items, Uniques will always have the same four affixes, which still roll in a stat range, and a special Unique effect which you can only find on that particular item. Due to these two characteristics, Unique items are often central pieces in most builds.
