Diablo 4 - Codex of Power

The Codex of Power lists several unlockable Aspects you can collect by completing Dungeons and progressing the main story in Diablo 4. To view your Codex, press Y to open the Collections menu or speak to any Occultist NPC found within major settlements in each region.

Codex Aspects Are Not Consumed on Use

Compared to Aspects which you can extract from dropped Legendaries, you can imprint Codex Aspects on weapons, armor, and jewelry as many times as needed, provided you have enough Gold and Veiled Crystals.

However, note that Codex Aspects will always roll their effects as low as possible, which makes extracted Aspects potentially stronger when imprinting.

Some Extracted Aspects Are Not in the Codex

In addition, the Codex of Power does not contain every Aspect in the game. Some specific Aspects can only be obtained through random Legendary drops, making them extremely sought-after for certain builds.

How to Use Codex Aspects

Imprint Gear at the Occultist

Diablo 4 - Occultist Imprinting an Item

You can imprint Aspects you've obtained in the Codex of Power by visiting the nearest Occultist and opening the Imprint Aspect tab. Drag a Rare or Legendary item to the slot at the top of the tab, select the Codex Aspect of your choice, and press Imprint Aspect to apply its unique effect.

Note that imprinting Aspects onto items requires plenty of Gold and Veiled Crystals, so ensure you have enough resources before visiting the Occultist.
