Mutterlock Chests are rare chests that can only be opened by choosing the correct answer from the list of phrases in Diablo 4 (D4). Learn how to open Mutterlock Chests and the rewards you can obtain when opening them!

Choose the Correct Answer

Diablo 4 - How to Open Mutterlock Chests Preview

Interacting with the Mutterlock Chest will prompt you with a list of phrases to choose from. Choosing the correct phrase opens the chest, which you can only decipher by listening to Whispering Stones and merging their words together.

Find and Interact with the Whispering Stones

The Whispering Stones can be located nearby, so roam around the area to find them. There will always be three stones to complete the phrase, so look at the chat to know what the Disembodied Voice says, then go back to the chest and choose the correct answer.

Gold and High-Rarity Items

Diablo 4 - Sacred Gloves

After successfully solving the riddle, the Mutterlock Chest gets unlocked and becomes a Resplendent Chest. Upon opening, players are able to pick up Gold and high-rarity items, including Sacred and Ancestral items, if you're already on World Tier 3 or 4.
