With the drip marketing for both Lynae and Mornye dropping in the middle of Version 2.8, we can assue that they are the two characters that will release in Version 3.0!

In November 26, 2025, Wuthering Waves teased a bunch of new characters that are slated to release from Version 3.0! Note that these characters will most likely release across multiple version updates with different banner dates.
A Pink-Haired Girl
In addition to the roster of characters teased last November 26, an unknown pink-haired girl appeared in the recent Transfer Student trailer released last December 5! Her tacet mark is found on a heart-shaped crest on her chest hinting that she could be a future Resonator.
Based on how she looks at Rover, it seems like she knows our protagonist from way back. Will she be able to tell us more about the obfuscated history of the Rover?

3.0 Release Date and Countdown
Expected to Release on December 25
With the current timeline of 2.8's ongoing events and banners, it is highly speculated that Version 3.0 will be released around December 25, 2025. It'll be a huge update featuring new areas, resonators, and an entirely new chapter for Rover's journey.

A Letter From Startorch Academy
The official Wuthering Waves Twitter account recently released a teaser for version 3.0. It shows a Letter of Acceptance for Startorch Academy, further confirming that it is Rover's next destination.
Journey to Lahai-Roi
A hashtag in the recent Wuthering Waves Tweet, #LahaiRoi, also brings attention to the fact that it'll be the next new main region for 3.0. Following the events of Segue Quest, Flowing Starlight in the Iris, a rift opened that may lead us directly into Lahai-Roi.

Lahai-Roi Region Preview
Lahai-Roi is almost certainly set to debut as the next major region in Version 3.0, following a recent region preview shared by the official Wuthering Waves X account.
The teaser showcased the region’s key factions, a first look at its exploration features, and even a glimpse at new combat mechanics currently in development. While this is only an early taste of what’s to come, players can be confident that Lahai-Roi will arrive with the release of Version 3.0.

A Music-Filled Area
A Gameplay Showcase for Version 3.0 was recently released. It revealed a lush, musical corner of Lahai-Roi, where greenery and rhythmic melodies blend seamlessly. Every plant, door and landscape moved through the rhythm of the area's music!
Little green creatures were also seen following the player as they were exploring the musical area. These creatures may be the new charming companions for the next region.

In the most recent Lahai-Roi exploration preview, the developers also revealed three new Echo concepts featuring a more mechanized, metallic design which are distinctly different from the organic or statue-like Echoes seen in the game so far.
These designs offer a glimpse into all of the automaton-like Echoes that players may soon witness wandering cross Lahai-Roi's frozen terrain.
Version 3.0 New Combat Mechanics
Off-Tune Level and Mistune
Version 3.0 will introduce a new combat mechanic that lets players build up an enemy’s Off-Tune level through continuous attacks. Once this gauge reaches its maximum, the enemy enters a Mistuned state. Striking them during this window triggers a Tune Break, unleashing a burst of damage and resetting their Off-Tune level back to zero.
Tune Break Skill
When stronger enemies enter their Mistuned state after accumulating enough Off-Tune levels, players will be prompted to cast a Tune Break Skill. Activating this skill deals significant damage, breaks the enemy’s Vibration Strength, interrupts their attacks, and resets their Off-Tune level.
For longtime players, this mechanic may feel familiar to the Finishing Attack mechanic briefly featured in the game’s early story-driven boss encounters.

Expedition Motorbike

Version 3.0 introduces Expedition Motorbike as a brand new way to traverse the terrains of Wuthering Waves. During the Version 3.0 Showcase, the Radiance Across Sea and Sky music can be heard, instead of the Lahai-Roi theme. It is highly likely that the motorbike also has a built-in radio that could play the Music Boxes players have collected throughout their journey in Solaris.
Additionally, the Expedition Motorbike also features 1st and 3rd person points of view, accommodating the preferences of each player.

Exploring Rover's Student Life
As revealed in the Segue Quest Flowing Starlight in the Iris, Rover was a former student of Startorch Academy in Lahai-Roi. This may be the chance to learn more about Rover as a character, as well as their goals and reasons for removing their memories.
