Wuthering Waves 3.0, also known as the Christmas Update, was released last December 25, 2025. This update introduced a brand new region, Lahai-Roi, as Rover journeys to discover what's happening in Startorch Academy alongside new casts of characters like Lynae and Mornye.

Six limited 5-star characters arrives with their own banners in Version 3.0! Lynae debuts in Phase 1 on release, together with Cartethyia and Ciaccona.
As for Phase 2, Mornye will become available alongside Augusta and Iuno with their own limited banners starting January 15, 2025.

Spectrum Blaster (Pistols)
Spectrum Blaster is a 5-star Pistol and is Lynae's signature weapon. It will have its own Absolute Pulsation Convene Banner that runs alongside Lynae herself, from December 25, 2025.

Starfield Calibrator is a 5-star Broadblade and is Mornye's signature weapon. It is slated to release on January 15, 2025 together with Mornye in Phase 2 of Version 3.0.

3.0 New Quests
There will be three new quests coming out in Version 3.0 set to be the introduction to Chapter 3 of the Main Story.

Main Quest and Story Chapter List
Prologue - When the Unknown Thrums
A prologue quest became available last December 25, 2025 with the release of 3.0. The prologue tackles Rover's journey into Lahai-Roi as he tries to enter the gate found in the Chronorift Metropolis from 2.8.
Act 1 - What Burns Beneath Frostlands
Act 1 of Chapter 3 was also released with the update and is set in Startorch Academy as Rover discovers what transpired during the years he left the facility as a student.

Act 2 - Ode to the Second Sunrise
Chapter 3 Act 2 will be released on January 15, 2026 and will signal Phase 2 of the update. This is likely to be a continuation of the story as Rover continues to explore Lahai-Roi as a region.

Startorch Academy is depicted to be the gateway to the region based on the events of 2.8. Rover is known to be a student of the facility and is making its return in the update.

Hyvatia
Hyvatia is a new boss in 3.0 and is created by Spacetrek Collective to detect abnormal energy fluctuations. This is an Overlord Class enemy that players will challenge to get ascension materials from.

The Reactor Husk is a safety measurement by the Spacetrek Collective to resist the Threnodian. This Overlord Class enemy comes out to seek and elimitate all intruders when the Reactor Drive's immune response is triggered.

Dreamless debuts as a Tactical Hologram in Version 3.0. Challenge the boss in increasing difficulties and get trophies for completing them!

Doubled Pawns Matrix: Pilot
Doubled Pawns Matrix: Pilot is a new endgame mode that requires you to enter the matrix to defeat the different bosses that target the Spacetrek Collective's database.
Select buffs and run challenges against bosses in a highly difficult game mode!
3.0 New Combat Mechanics
Off-Tune Level and Mistune
Version 3.0 introduces a new combat mechanic that lets players build up an enemy’s Off-Tune level through continuous attacks. Once this gauge reaches its maximum, the enemy enters a Mistuned state. Striking them during this window triggers a Tune Break, unleashing a burst of damage and resetting their Off-Tune level back to zero.
What is the Off-Tune Mechanic?
Tune Break Skill
When stronger enemies enter their Mistuned state after accumulating enough Off-Tune levels, players are prompted to cast a Tune Break Skill. Activating this skill deals significant damage, breaks the enemy’s Vibration Strength, interrupts their attacks, and resets their Off-Tune level.
For longtime players, this mechanic may feel familiar to the Finishing Attack mechanic briefly featured in the game’s early story-driven boss encounters.

Expedition Motorbike Travel Feature
The Expedition Motorbike is a new vehicle exclusive to Lahai-Roi that you can use for exploration. Change its design with Livelries, grapple and reach hard-to-reach areas with the vehicle, and roam around the map with the bike!

Double Rewards Global Availability
Double drop claiming now stacks with double-drop events, allowing you to essentially claim four times the base amount for materials.
Team Setup Animations and Improved Event Interface
The team setup menu in 3.0 has updated visuals with each character having dynamic animations.
Furthermore, there have been improvements to the Event menu as all events now have countdown timers to indicate when they will end.
Better Mobile Experience
Mobile players can now download resources while playing the game, classified based on area and storyline. Aside from this, the Resource Cleanup allows you to manage game assets for already completed content.
Frame Generation support is also extended to more devices with Dimensity 9400 and 9400+ or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 starting Version 3.0.
Improved Audiovisual Exploration
In Version 3.0, you can experience improved visuals with the game's environment, alongside optimized ambient sound with Lahai-Roi for better immersion.
Data Bank Level Increased to Lvl 30
The max Data Bank Level cap is increased to Level 30 in Version 3.0 and boasts improved drop rates for all Echoes depending on rarity.
