Yinlin is the premier Electro Sub-DPS unit known for her good off-field damage and buffing towards Electro units. She can be quite good at buffing Resonance Liberation DMG, but not many units really scale off it as of 2.6.
Her main value is being Xiangli Yao and Calcharo's dedicated Sub-DPS unit, although she can be viable in teams with Augusta.

Yinlin is a Sub-DPS who can dish out a lot of damage when on-field. When switched out, Yinlin provides buffs with her Outro Skill and can also deal damage due to her Forte Circuit.
As a Sub-DPS, you want to maximize her potential by equipping her with Moonlit Cloud to help her cast Resonance Liberation more often, while providing additional buffs to the main DPS.
For her Echoes, Yinlin's main and substats should still include CRIT and ATK% but you'd also need to have a pretty good mix of Energy Regen in there so her burst uptime is not sacrificed.

Stringmaster is easily Yinlin's best-in-slot weapon as it provides CRIT Rate, a DMG Bonus of all Resonance Attributes, and an ATK boost. It also increases her ATK when off-field, buffing the damage of Judgement Thunder.
If you do not have Stringmaster, any Rectifier that provides CRIT, ATK, or even Energy Regen stats will do.

Xiangli Yao is by far the best Main DPS for Yinlin since he makes great use of the Electro DMG and Resonance Liberation Boosts from her Outro Skill.
Shorekeeper can provide the much needed healing for the team. Her Stellarealm can increase your team's damage. She can also provide an extra All-Type DMG Deepen on top of Yinlin's Electro DMG boost.

Yinlin is the only character that has Electro DMG Amplification in her kit. This makes her quite viable as a sub-DPS for Augusta, a premier Electro DPS, boosting her DMG output pretty well. The pair's synergy is also improved further by Shorekeeper as the support.
Shorekeeper is the best support unit due to her high general DMG buffs that are easily accessible to a majority of the characters. She also provides a lot of sustain in her kit, especially with her Liberation having a high up-time.

If you don't have Calcharo, or your other Main DPS characters are used on other teams, you can run a F2P team with Rover (Havoc) as your Main DPS and Baizhi as your support. This will be a more Basic Attack oriented team that makes use of Rover's powerful Dark Surge state.
Alternatively, you could use other strong Single-Target DPS characters, like Chixia or Lingyang, instead of Rover, as well as grouping supports like Yangyang or Jianxin if both healing supports are used on other teams.

Yinlin's kit heavily revolves around her Sinner's Mark mechanic, so you want to make sure that enemies are always marked before you start dealing damage and performing Yinlin's combos.

To convert Sinner's Marks into Punishment Marks, you'll need to use her Forte Circuit. Fill up her Forte Gauge with her Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill before holding Heavy Attack to turn the Sinner's Marks into Punishment Marks.
Just remember to apply Sinner's Marks first before using her Forte Circuit since you won't get Punishment Marks otherwise.
As a Sub-DPS, you'll want to make sure you swap Yinlin out once her Punishment Marks are active. She doesn't need to be the active character for the Judgement Strike procs to go off, meaning you can use your Main DPS instead.
This is especially true if she has a Stringmaster equipped since it will further boost her ATK stat once she's off the field.
The second activation of Yinlin's Resonance Skill will hit all targets with a Sinner's Mark applied. Make sure to always use her Resonance Skill after applying a Sinner's Mark on the enemy so that you can maximize its damage output.
In case Yinlin doesn't have her Ultimate ready, you'll want to focus on using Basic Attacks against every single enemy to apply Sinner's Marks on them. This way you can still turn them into Punishments Marks with her Forte Circuit, even if you didn't use her Ult first.

Her Sinner's Marks have infinite duration, meaning you can exploit effects that require a Sinner's Marks without having to worry about it disappearing. The only time that the Sinner's Marks will disappear is when Yinlin switches off the field or when she uses her Forte Circuit to turn them into Punishment Marks.

If all enemies die before using your Forte Circuit, reapply Sinner's Marks first since you won't transform anything into Punishment Marks otherwise.
This will be Yinlin's standard full damage combo that's used whenever all of her abilities are available to use. The combo aims to maximize her damage output, as well as her Forte Circuit and Outro Skill timers once she swaps out to the Main DPS of your team.
If you're using the Nightmare versions of the Mephis, you do not need to use the echoes to get the buffs. This way, you can use them whenever there's an opening and it is off cooldown.
