Who is The Shaper?
A Member of the Heliodic Six
The Shaper is a member of the Heliodic Six, the six eldest and wisest Royans attuned to and overseeing the tribe’s Heliogyre, allowing them to foresee the future by interpreting readings from the Reactor Drive, the Exostrider’s core.
As one of only six people capable of predicting possible Void Storm locations, he serves as a crucial asset and guiding hand for the Spacetrek Collective, providing invaluable data for their operations.
The Only Survivor of the Heliodic Six
Upon meeting The Shaper, he explains that the other five members of the Heliodic Six have lost their minds due to Void Corruption spreading through the Solistrees in Bjartr Woods and infecting the light of the Heliogyre.
He was the only one able to sever himself from the Heliogyre’s influence and shut it down before it damaged his psyche. This is significant, as the Heliodic Six are chosen from a small pool of Royans able to resonate with the Heliogyre, making their survival crucial. Without them, Lahai-Roi would face disaster.
Knows The Rover as The Arbiter
Like other entities the Rover has encountered, such as Sentinels, The Shaper is one of the few who recognize the Rover by the title of Arbiter. Because of this role, he requests the Rover’s authorization to assume the responsibilities of all Heliodic Six members, fully connecting himself to the Heliogyre to solely continue their work for the good of Lahai-Roi.
Assumed the Role of All Heliodic Six Members
With the Rover’s authorization, The Shaper fully attunes with the Heliogyre, despite the toll that it would take on him, effectively sacrificing himself. This allows him to continue interpreting the Heliogyre’s readings amid the spreading Void Corruption.
Doing so would ultimately let the Rover and Mornye access the Reactor Drive’s raw data and successfully launch the second artificial sun, Helios, just as the Reactor Drive begins to crash prematurely during Chapter 3 Act 2: Ode to the Second Sunrise.
Is The Shaper a Playable Character?
No, The Shaper is Currently Not a Playable Character
Despite his striking design, The Shaper is not a playable character. There is currently no news regarding his playability, and his role in Lahai-Roi's story suggests that he likely won’t become one.
