You can get Echoes by defeating enemies, aka Tacet Discords, and absorbing the shining silhouette they leave behind. A sound cue will be heard if an enemy drops an Echo for you to absorb.
The drop rate is determined by your Data Bank level, so enemies won't always drop Echoes for you to absorb. If you're not able to get an Echo you want, you can use the Guidebook to track and farm for them again.
The powerful Echoes, the Overlord and Calamity types, can be obtained from Bosses that will spawn in the world. These are powerful bosses, so be prepared before facing them!
They also have an Enhanced Drop Rate, making them easier to get. You get 15 chances every week and this resets every Monday at 4AM of your server time.
Tacet Fields are areas in the game where you will fight several waves of Tacet Discords. These can reward Echoes of certain a Sonata and Tubes for Echo EXP. These unlock at Union Level 19 and require Waveplates to redeem rewards.
Waveplate Recharge Rate and How to Restore
Whenever you have extra Echoes, the Data Merge function will allow you to create new Echoes from the surplus in your inventory. This is effective in making sure all the Echoes you capture are not wasted.
You can unlock this function after completing SOL3 Phase 3 ascension quests.
How to Raise Your SOL3 Phase Level
Echoes can be leveled up with Sealed Tubes which serve as Echo EXP. This will make them stronger, increasing their stats and allowing you to upgrade them further by unlocking substats by tuning.
You can also use enhanced Echoes that you aren't using as experience. Each Echo will provide 75% experience, and higher rarity Echoes will require more experience to reach their maximum level.
Tuning an Echo will allow them to gain random substats. Doing this will increase their effectiveness. However, keep in mind two things:
You can tune Echoes with Tuners that can be found around the world or as rewards in Tacet Fields.
Echoes have two types of attributes that can provide stats to your characters. The stats values are fixed per attribute and increase with an Echo's level and rarity. Main stats are the first two attributes inherent in every Echo you absorb. These are determined randomly based on the Echo's cost.
Substats are additional random stats that are unlocked with Tuning. Echoes can have up to 5 substats, depending on their rarity, and cannot be changed once Tuned.
Echoes are summon-like gear that can aid you in battle. Depending on your Cost Limit, you can equip up to 5 different Echoes.
There are three types of Echoes: 4-Costs, 3-Costs, and 1-Costs. The higher the cost, the more powerful the Echoes are.
In the Echo tab of your Resonator, there are 5 slots which can be filled by Echoes you absorb in your gameplay.
The first and largest slot is for your Main Echoes. These are Echoes that not only will provide you stats, but will also aid you in combat with their unique skill. This can range from summoning them or turning into these Echoes to deal damage.
The other 4 slots are for Echoes you plan on using for stats or unlocking Sonata Effects that are ideal for your chosen Resonator.
All Echoes have a Sonata and equipping multiple Echoes with the same Sonata activates Sonata Effects. Sonata Effects are set bonuses that can boost damage, healing, or energy regen.
With Echoes, it's important to keep the Data Bank in mind. Increasing the level of Data Bank will not only improve the chances of getting Echoes, but it will also increase your Cost Limit, which will determine the type of Echoes you can equip.
To level up the Data Bank, you need to absorb different types and rarities of Echoes. It's ideal to get your Data Bank to Level 15 as soon as you can. This unlocks the chance of absorbing Rank 5 Echoes, which are Echoes that can carry 5 sub-stats when tuned.
