What is the Void Storm?
Regional Waveworn Phenomenon of Lahai-Roi
The Void Storm is Lahai-Roi's major Waveworn Phenomenon and is a recurring event in the region, happening over extended periods of time.
This can be associated similarly to the Dark Tide in Rinascita, Huanglong's Retroactive Rain, and Honami's Irideglow Crystal, where traces of the Lament can be felt with the changes in the region's very climate.
Intercepts all Frequencies
This Waveworn Phenomenon can block all frequencies moving to and from Lahai-Roi, making communication between the areas practically impossible.
This was, however, bypassed by Rover during the 2.8 quests, as a rift formed in the Chronorift Metropolis Sonoro Sphere, acting as a bridge between the two locations.
Opened a Rift in Startorch Academy
Transported Chisa to Chronorift Metropolis
The first instance of a Rift opening up between Startorch Academy and Honami City occurred twenty years ago, prior to the events of the Main Story.
This opening transported Chisa into the Chronorift Sonoro Sphere before closing upon itself, leaving the teenage girl trapped in the time loop for two months, equivalent to twenty years in the real world.
Created a Bridge to Lahai-Roi
During the events of Flowing Starlight in the Iris, the Rift emerged for a second time when Rover re-entered the Chronorift Metropolis after solving the time loop issue with Sumika's guidance and Chisa's aid. Shorekeeper mentions that the rift showed identical signatures to the Void Storm, hinting it was the cause of the opening.
Objects from Lahai-Roi were also dragged into the Sonoro Sphere, including a radio connected to Startorch Academy's talk show. This allowed the group to hear what's currently happening in the facility, leaving Chisa and Rover motivated to head to the academy.
