Hedgepuff | Blazing Cutlass |
Cyclone Swarm | Tambourine Duo |
Alptop Champion |
Black Shores introduced 5 new special enemies, which can only be unlocked through the Retro Game Collector challenge. There's a Data Hub you can level up by collecting KU-Cass Cartridges and delivering them to KU-Cass in Tethys Hub.
Get your Data Hub to level 1 by delivering 1 KU-Cass Cartridge. Then, Hedgepuff will be unlocked and can be found north of the TD Observatory in Black Shores.
Progress your Data Hub to level 2 by delivering 2 KU-Cass Cartridges and this will unlock Blazing Cutlass. It will be located south of Tethys Hub.
Progress to Data Hub Level 3 by delivering 2 more cartridges to unlock Cyclone Swarm. Three of them will be located south of the Bank of Life in Tethys' Deep.
Delivering 2 more cartridges will level up your Data Hub to level 4. This will unlock Tambourine Duo and they will be located east of the Modulation Hall in Tethys' Deep.
For the last special enemy, Alptop Champion, get your Data Hub to max level by delivering 3 cartridges. Then it will be located west of the Eidoscope.

Icefield Beast | Frigid Clang Bang |
Construct: Protective Scales | Mighty Lightcrusher |
The Icefield Beast or the Howlers in the Icefield can be found near Loong's Rest. To get to them, fast travel to a nearby Resonance Beacon and head to the marked location on the map.
The Frigid Clang Bang can be found in a corner of the Middle Tier of Truthseeker's Pass. To get to this location, you'll need to destroy the nearby Fissured Ledge by using the Chronosorters and Clang Bang Echo Challenge to get access to the Tacetite Fulminate.
The Construct: Protective Scales is on the area below the mountains of Loong's Crest. If you're coming from a Resonance Beacon near the top of the mountain, glide down and approach the location shown above.
Construct: Protective Scales Location
The Mighty Lightcrusher can be found between the Xuanji Ridges and Luminous Shore. It should be on a small island near the shore.
Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon east of Qichi VIllage then head north. The Carapace: Engine Zero can be found just past the outpost building.
Carapace: Engine Zero Location
Take the Resonance Beacon southeast of Loong's Gaze Suburbs. Head west until you find the Viridblaze Saurian resting beside some skeletal remains. It's also known as Viridblaze Saurian: Ultimate in the trophies.
Viridblaze Saurian: Ultimate Location
Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon in Tiderise Cliff and proceed southeast. You'll find the Autopuppet Scout-01 by its lonesome on the shore.
Fast travel to the Resonance Nexus southeast of the Corroded Ruins. Make your way northeast until you find the Wasteland Bellower in an open field.
Chasm Rider is found near the Qichi Village Resonance Nexus. You should find this enemy near an arch.
Take the Resonance Beacon east of the Distribution Center and head west. Climb the side of the hill until you reach some skeletal remains to find the Sabyrkin.
Take the Resonance Beacon northwest of Misty Coast and head north. You'll eventually find three Traffic Illuminators along the road which make up the Illuminator Theater. Beating them rewards a 5-star Echo.
Fast travel to the Resonance Nexus southeast of the Donglu Research Station. Head west until you reach the end of a waterfall to find the Roseshroom Mutant, also known as Roseshroom Variant in the trophies.
Fast travel to the Resonance Nexus in Tiger's Maw Mine and go west until you find a cave near a watchtower with some enemies.
Enter the cave and follow the linear path until you reach the Scorpion's Nest.
Along the way you may encounter a locked door. The password to unlock it is 2457.
Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon in the Sea of Flames and follow the highway until you reach the location indicated above. If you have it, you can use Inferno Rider's Echo Skill to get there faster.
Once you've reached the location, you should be able to drop down and glide to where the Fractsidus Followers are.
Take the west Resonance Beacon in Camp Overwatch and head east. The Obelisk Guardian will be sitting beside a rock on the cliff.
Fast travel to the Resonance Nexus southeast of the Forbidden Forest. Continue heading southeast and you'll find four Prism Hearts in the open field.
Take the Resonance Beacon south of Thorny Passage. Cross the river to the west and head northwest to find the Young Murmurin.
Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon northeast of the Mourning Aix boss. Head west and drop down to the body of water to find the Twin Heron.
Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon north of Violet Banyan. Simply make your way southeast and you'll eventually find the Wild Gorilla out in the open. This is also the Wild Scarlet in the trophies.
If you've unlocked the Depths of Illusive Realm, fast travel to its entrance and go west towards Plateau Ruins. You'll find the Spearback King, a level 120 bear, sleeping at the base of a giant tree.
If you haven't unlocked Depths of Illusive Realm, you can use the 3 surrounding Resonance Beacons instead to get there faster.
Special enemies are enemies with a glowing red mist that are exceptionally strong and scattered around Solaris-3. To defeat them, you'll need to be comfortable with the Combat System and make good use of Parries and Counterattacks.
Unlike other regular enemies, they do not scale with SOL3 Phase Level. If you find yourself unable to beat a special enemy, you can always come back later once you have raised the level of your Resonators.
Special enemies also give a 4 or 5-Star Echo when defeated, making them worthwhile to seek out and farm if you can reliably defeat them. They also reward trophies for the first time you beat them.
Special enemies don't respawn daily, but take a few days to reappear. There doesn't seem to be a fixed number of days and may be random. If you wish to farm more special enemies, consider joining other players in Multiplayer Mode.
