| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Strong DMG buffer for Heavy Attack users. • Provides supplemental DMG through Coordinated Attacks. • Becomes a lot stronger when his Sequence Nodes are unlocked. |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Needs to be built with Energy Regen stats to consistently use Resonance Liberation. • Resonance Liberation Cooldown is fairly long and tedious to use without Sequence Nodes. • Needs Sequence Node 4 so that Resonance Liberation can be used comfortably. |
Mortefi is a great 4-star Sub-DPS who can provide off-field Coordinated Attacks with his Resonance Liberation and buff Heavy Attacks with his Outro Skill. Mortefi becomes especially better the more Sequence Nodes are unlocked.

Mortefi is a Sub DPS who can use his Resonance Liberation to deal extra damage if any on-field character does a Heavy Attack. CRIT stats are important to deal as much damage as possible while Energy Regen can let him unleash his Resonance Liberation a lot sooner.
With Mortefi running Empyrean Anthem, focus on achieving high enough CRIT Rate to reliably trigger its effects. Based on our real-world testings, we did see that 65% - 70% CRIT Rate is a balanced stat to aim for to proc the effects of Empyrean Anthem.
| Main Echo | Explanation |
|---|---|
|
|
・Provides significant increase in Coordinated Attack damage which works extremely well with Mortefi's Ultimate. ・Deals Havoc damage around Mortefi, dealing extra damage while not taking up time in casting. |
|
|
・Restores Mortefi's Resonance Energy so he can cast his Ultimate more. ・Increases the next character's DMG dealt, good for a semi-support role for Mortefi. |
|
|
・A good Fusion damage dealer when using Mortefi as a DPS. ・Replace with a support-centric Echo in the later parts of the game. ・Use regular Inferno Rider while you have no access to Rinascita. |
|
|
・A good Molten Rift option if you're not in Rinascita yet, and have not accessed the Nightmare version. |
| Echo Set | Rating |

(5-pc) |
★★★ - Best Empyrean Anthem provides the set holder a significant increase in Coordinated Attack damage, and increases the active Resonator's ATK when doing critical hits. This works well with Mortefi as it increases his off-field damage while offering decent buffs to the DPS. Note that Mortefi's S4 Resonance Chain is a must-have with this set to fully utilize the buffs provided through the extended duration of his Resonance Liberation. Recommended Main Echo: |
|
(5-pc) |
★★☆ - 2nd Best Moonlit Clouds generally increases Mortefi's Energy Regen capabilities as well as increases the ATK of the next character that switches in after Mortefi's Outro Skill. Considering Mortefi's main kit revolves around his Liberation, you'd want this to have as little downtime as possible. Recommended Main Echo: |
|
(2-pc) (2-pc) |
★☆☆ - 3rd Best The 2-pc bonuses of the Moonlit Clouds and Molten Rift sets can also be utilized together as Mortefi benefits from both. His damage scales off Fusion DMG and his Liberation can be casted more often thanks to the Energy Regen. Recommended Main Echo: |

| 6 |
|
Ever-Changing When the Resonator dashes or dodges, increases ATK by 4%, stacking up to 3 time(s). This effect lasts for 8s. |

As a Sub-DPS who can increase Heavy Attack DMG, Mortefi can use Static Mist to increase the ATK of the next character. The Last Dance is also a great weapon to use on him, if you have it. As for 4-star options, use weapons that improve Mortefi's Concerto Energy and Liberation Regen like Cadenza and Relativistic Jet to make his rotation more comfortable.

| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
| | Main DPS Replacement Roccia mainly scales off of Heavy Attack, so if you plan on running Roccia as a DPS, Mortefi is your guy. We still do not recommend this however, as Roccia's skill is that of a Sub-DPS more than anything. |
| | Main DPS Replacement Danjin's DMG mostly comes from her Heavy Attacks, which Mortefi can strengthen. |
| | Support Replacement Verina is also a good alternative since she has the ability to enhance allies' all-type DMG and provide healing. |
| | Support Replacement Baizhi is a free-to-play option who can provide a ton of healing. |
This team composition focuses on buffing Jiyan's overall damage in battle using Mortefi's buffs. Mortefi can increase Jiyan's Heavy Attack DMG through his Outro Skill, while Shorekeeper keeps up the team's health and provides buffs through her Resonance Liberation and Outro Skill.
| 1 | Shorekeeper starts the battle and charges both her Resonance Liberation and Concerto Energy until the other Resonator's icons glow. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Cast Shorekeeper's Resonance Liberation and switch to Mortefi once his portrait lights up. Shorekeeper's Outro Skill will increase his All-Type DMG Deepen buff and provide passive defensive bonuses. |
| 3 | Keep attacking the enemy with Mortefi until his Resonance Liberation is up. Activate Mortefi's Resonance Liberation as soon as you can and then switch to Jiyan to increase the latter's Heavy Attack DMG. |
| 4 | Use Jiyan's Resonance Liberation to enter Qingloong Mode. This mode will consider all of his Basic Attacks and Dodge Counters into Heavy Attacks, which will maximize the buff placed on him by Mortefi. |
| 5 | Continue to DPS with Jiyan until Concerto Energy is fully charged, then swap back to Shorekeeper to detonate her Stellarealm with her Enhanced Intro Skill. |
| 6 | Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled. |

Mortefi is an excellent sub-DPS for Augusta, making up her best available team with Shorekeeper. Mortefi excels at buffing Heavy Attack DMG, which Augusta primarily scales off of. Furthermore, he deals quite good off-field damage with his Coordinated attacks.
For supports, Shorekeeper is the most optimal due to her high DMG buffing and healing capabilities, but you can use other alternatives like Verina or even Baizhi if you don't have any of the 5-star units.
| 1 | Start with Shorekeeper and go through her internal rotations to build up both her Concerto and Resonance Energy. Then, activate Stellarealm once available and switch out to Mortefi with her Outro. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Have Mortefi attack enemies and build up Energy via his Resonance Skill resets. Then, cast his Liberation to provide Augusta with Coordinated Attacks. |
| 3 | Activate Mortefi's Echo Skill to get its buffs before switching to Augusta when her Intro is available. |
| 4 | As Augusta, perform her Prowess-enhanced Heavy Attacks and then follow it up with her Echo Skill to deal Electro DMG. |
| 5 | Cast her Resonance Skill and Liberation, followed by more Heavy Attacks to fill her Ascendancy stacks. Then, perform her 3-attack Resonance Skill combo to get 1 Majesty stack. |
| 6 | Once she has 2 Majesty stacks, activate her second Resonance Liberation and enter Sworn Allegiance. |
| 7 | During Sworn Allegiance, time is stopped for 7 seconds. Within this period, attack 9 times with Sunborne slashes and cast Everbright Protector afterwards. |
| 8 | Once available, switch to Shorekeeper via her Intro Skill to detonate Stellarealm. |
| 9 | Repeat until all enemies are defeated. |

Galbrena works with Mortefi and Lupa to make up a unique Mono Fusion team revolving around funneling Fusion DMG and Heavy Attack DMG buffs to Galbrena. Fusion DMG increases overall damage regardless of DMG type scaling, so Galbrena benefits from this greatly.
The main downside to this team is that there are no dedicated support units to give sustain, such as healing and shielding. This is a damage-oriented team that requires precision with dodging and counter attacks.
| 1 | Initiate combat with Lupa and cast two instances of her Resonance Skill. Then, perform Liberation to activate Pack Hunt and Glory. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Use Foebreaker to deal damage and build up Wolflame stacks with her mid-air attacks. Then, convert it to Wolfaith once full with her Mid-air and Heavy Attacks. Lastly, cast Echo Skill to give Galbrena Afterflame stacks then perform Resonance Skill before switching to Mortefi. |
| 3 | Have Mortefi attack enemies and generate Energy via his Resonance Skill resets. Then, cast his Liberation to give Galbrena coordinated attacks. Before switching out via his Outro, make sure to cast his Echo Skill first for Afterflame stacks. |
| 4 | As Galbrena enters the field, quickly activate her Echo Skill and follow-up with 6 Basic Attacks. Then, cast Resonance Skill once her Forte is full to enter Demon Hypostasis. |
| 5 | In Demon Hypostasis, cast Liberation to deal damage and increase her other skills' DMG multipliers. Then, follow this up with 7 Basic Attacks to consume her Forte energy for extra damage. |
| 6 | Once her Forte is depleted and her Outro is available, switch back to Lupa. |
| 7 | Repeat until there are no enemies left in the field. |

| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
| | Support Replacement Shorekeeper is a good alternative as she provides CRIT buffs for this team. Generally, you'd want Verina because she provides Coordinated Attacks of her own. |
| | Support Replacement Baizhi is a decent free-to-play option who provides a ton of healing for the team. |
This team composition will revolve around Mortefi providing Coordinated Attacks through his Resonance Liberation to support Jinhsi's Incandescence stack. Verina also provides extra Coordinated Attacks apart from her added healing and team-wide buffs.
| 1 | Use Verina first and use her usual Support Combo, ending with her Resonance Liberation. Afterwards, swap to Mortefi. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Immediately cast Jinhsi's Overflowing Radiance and follow it up with another Resonance Skill attack. Afterward, complete her Basic Attack combo up to Stage 4, then cast Illuminous Epiphany to enable Unison, which allows her to be swapped off-field without consuming Concerto Energy. |
| 3 | Switch to Mortefi and perform his optimal combos while charging up his Resonance Liberation. Cast it once available to enable his off-field Coordinated Attacks, then switch back to Jinhsi. |
| 4 | Once Jinhsi is back on the field, the main goal would be to stack her Incandesence and increase the damage of her Resonance Skill: Illuminous Epiphany with the help of Mortefi's and Verina's Coordinated Attacks to maximize its damage output. Be sure to cast her Resonance Liberation when available. |
| 5 | Switch to Verina again to and repeat the steps until the enemy is felled. |
| Mortefi Gameplay Guide |
|---|
|
|
| ① | Enter via Mortefi's Intro Skill and cast Resonance Skill afterwards. |
|---|---|
| ② | You can cast an Enhanced Resonance Skill with his Forte, then follow it up with Basic Attacks. |
| ③ | Once his Forte gauge is full once more, cast a third Resonance Skill. |
| ④ | Next, activate his Liberation to activate his Coordinated Attacks. |
| ⑤ | Lastly, quickly cast Echo Skill before using his Outro to amplify the next Resonator's Heavy Attack DMG. |
| Combo |
|---|
| Res. Skill → BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA4 → Resonance Skill: Fury Fugue (consumes 100 “Annoyance”) |
When switching into Mortefi and his Ultimate has not yet been charged, do the combo shown above to accumulate Resonance Energy and also deal some damage.
Successfully executing the combo allows Mortefi to use his enhanced Resonance Skill!
Using Mortefi's Resonance Skill followed by four Basic Attacks allows him to fill up his Forte Circuit gauge quickly because his Resonance Skill restores more “Annoyance” for 5 seconds.
Mortefi's Ultimate is his most important ability since it makes Coordinated Attacks when switching out to other characters. Basically, Mortefi launches a follow-up attack when a character does a Basic Attack, firing 1 Mercato.
Mortefi also launches a follow-up attack when someone does a Heavy Attack, firing 2 Mercatos!
Mortefi's Outro Skill is amazing since it can have the on-field character's Heavy Attack DMG Amplified by 38% for 14 seconds. His Outro Skill works well with characters such as Jiyan!
Ideally, you want to use Mortefi's Ultimate only when the Concerto Energy is full so his Outro Skill activates!
| Combo |
|---|
| Intro Skill → Res. Skill → Res. Skill → Basic Attacks → Res. Skill → Res. Lib → Echo Skill → Outro |
Start by using his Intro Skill followed by his Resonance Skill. Afterwards, use the Draconic Hellfire and then use Mortefi's Basic Attacks to fill up Concerto Energy and gather Annoyance for Draconic Hellfire.
After using a second Draconic Hellfire, activate Mortefi's Resonance Liberation and then casting Echo Skill before switching to the DPS to buff them with his Outro Skill.

| Skill | Priority | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Attack | ★★★☆☆ | Basic Attacks will be the main way for Mortefi to generate Annoyance stacks for his Forte Circuit. While it's not the highest priority skill to upgrade, you'd still want to level this up third with how often you'll be using it. |
| Resonance Skill | ★★★☆☆ | His Resonance Skill is also mainly used for Annoyance stacks and its upgrade priority can be swapped with his Basic Attack if you prefer using this over auto-attacking. |
| Forte Circuit | ★★★★☆ | When you're using Mortefi as your active character, his Forte Circuit will be the main source of his DPS. Upgrade this after his Resonance Liberation so that he isn't used solely as an Ult bot. |
| Resonance Liberation | ★★★★★ | Mortefi's Resonance Liberation is his most important skill, besides his Outro Skill, since it increases the damage output of whatever Basic Attacking Main DPS you switch to. Prioritize upgrading this skill above anything else to maximize the damage it deals. |
| Intro Skill | ★☆☆☆☆ | While his Intro Skill isn't bad, it's still the lowest priority upgrade since it's mainly used to generate Mortefi's initial Annoyance charges. |
Mortefi's coordinated attack damage comes mostly from his Resonance Liberation, so level that one up first. Afterward, focus on his Forte Circuit for an additional source of damage while following it up with his Resonance Skill or Normal Attack.
This makes sure Mortefi can deal as much damage as possible with his off-field attacker role in the current meta.

| Why We Recommend It | |
|---|---|
| S1 | ★★★☆☆ - Good Mortefi's Ultimate is already his best skill, and adding Coordinated Attacks to Resonance Skills, on top of Basic and Heavy Attacks, makes his Resonance Liberation so much stronger. That said, his best teammates are not reliant on their Resonance Skills, so this doesn't have that much benefit apart from the added damage. |
| S2 | ★★★☆☆ - Good This node synergizes well with Mortefi being on the Empyrean Anthem set, as he will preferably have Hecate. The added benefit of an extra Resonance Energy source whenever he activates his Echo Skill is quite helpful in his rotation and build requirements. |
| S3 | ★★★★☆ - Great Having bonus CRIT DMG on his Ultimate is great since it allows Mortefi to focus on getting equipment with other substats. The only downside is that if his equipment doesn't have a CRIT Rate%, then you won't be able to make use of this upgrade. |
| S4 | ★★★★★ - Amazing Mortefi's S4 upgrade is by far the best one to unlock since it will extend his Ult's duration by 7 seconds. This will make the total duration of his Ultimate 17 seconds, leaving you with only a 7-second downtime in between Ult casts. As a note, without this upgrade, it would be 14 seconds of downtime. |
| S5 | ★☆☆☆☆ - Mediocre While this is nice to have, you're mainly using Mortefi to buff up your Main DPS with his Resonance Liberation and Outro Skill. This can make Mortefi a good Main DPS, but he's still better suited for the Sub-DPS role. |
| S6 | ★★★★☆ - Great The capstone to his Resonance Chain further improves on his role as a Sub-DPS since you'll be swapping out to your Main DPS every time you use Mortefi's Resonance Liberation. This will boost their ATK on top of the ATK Boosted Coordinated Attacks that they get. |
| S1 | Solitary Etude During Resonance Liberation Burning Rhapsody, Mortefi launches Coordinated Attacks when the on-field character performs their Resonance Skills, firing 2 Resonance Liberation's Marcato hits, dealing Fusion Damage. |
|---|---|
| S2 | Hypocritical Hymn After using the Echo Skill, Mortefi restores an additional 10 Resonance Energy. This can be triggered once every 20 seconds. |
| S3 | Flaming Recitativo During Resonance Liberation Burning Rhapsody, the Crit. DMG of Resonance Liberation's Marcato is increased by 30%. |
| S4 | Cathartic Waltz The duration of Resonance Liberation Burning Rhapsody is extended by 7 seconds. |
| S5 | Funerary Quartet When Resonance Skill Fury Fugue hits a target, 4 Resonance Liberation's Marcato hits will be fired, dealing Fusion Damage. DMG of Resonance Liberation's Marcato fired in this way is reduced by 50%. |
| S6 | Apoplectoc Instrumental When Resonance Liberation Violent Finale is cast, ATK of all team members is increased by 20% for 20s. |

A note about S5 being "bad" - while it does little for most usecases, it makes him even better at building stacks for Jinhsi.
