Lone Star Card Game Guide

Wuthering Waves 3.1 - Lone Star Card Event Guide

Lone Star Card is a card mini-game first unlocked as part of the Where Stars Cascade Down event in Wuthering Waves 3.1. Learn how to play Lone Star Card, how to beat the contenders and rewards here!

How to Play Lone Star Card Game

  1. Pair Duplicate Cards
  2. Start Game With Coin Toss
  3. Play Cards Automatically When Pairs are Found
  4. Observe Resonator Skills
  5. Beware the Crownless Card

Pair Duplicate Cards to Reduce Your Deck

Lone Star Card is a card-based mini-game where 8 cards are given to both you and your Resonator opponent. You must then pair identical cards from the opponent's deck to have duplicate cards, which will automatically be removed from your deck.

Your endgame here is to reduce the cards in your deck, with the following win conditions to consider:

  • The opponent has only one card left to choose from your deck, which will end with them being defeated.
  • The opponent's HP reaches 0 by picking the Crownless Card twice.
  • Reduce your 8 cards to 0 by finding good pairs.

Start the Game With a Coin Toss

Lone Star Step 1

The game will automatically start with a coin toss that will dictate who gets the first move. This is random and not scripted, so chance plays a factor on who plays first.

Play Cards Automatically When Pairs are Found

Whenever Pairs are found on your deck or your opponent's deck, they will be played automatically, removing them and reducing the cards at play.

Observe Resonator Skills When Dueling

Opponents may use a Resonator Skill, which can allow them to gain a tactical advantage against you during duels. This can range from reversing a wrong move to avoiding specific cards from being picked.

Instant Veto Can Allow You to Cancel Opponent Draws

Wild Card
The Rover also has a Resonator Skill, Instant Veto, which allows you to cancel an opponent's draw whenever they pick a Wild Card.

Beware the Crownless Card

Avoid picking the Crownless Card as much as possible as this will reduce your HP. Make sure this card is picked by the opponent instead to reduce their HP.

Time Reverse:
Give up this draw and do a redraw. (Allows Jinhsi to cancel her current drawn card and switch to another card during her turn.)

Avoid Jinhsi's Time Reverse Ability and Find Pairs Fast

Make sure to find pairs quickly to reduce the chances of Jinhsi triggering her Time Reverse ability, as this gives her a second chance to pick a better card pair from your deck, immediately flipping the match to her advantage if she chooses correctly.

Galbrena

Character and Resonator Skill

Sharp Instinct:
Check one card from the opponent's hand. Can only be used when the opponent has 3-5 cards.

Win the Coin Toss and Play First

Make sure to win the coin toss first to get a first shot and pair cards before Galbrena uses her Resonator Skill. The less cards you have, the less impactful her skill becomes.

Should you fail to play first, you can just immediately quit and retry to force the coin toss to give you the first turn.

Luuk Hersen

Mind Scalpel:
Lower chances of drawing the Crownless Card. (Reduced chance of losing HP when dueling.)

Do Not Aim for Crownless Card Wins and Reduce Cards Instead

Make sure to prioritize reducing the cards in your deck instead of going for Crownless Card wins against Luuk, as his Resonance skill automatically rigs him to have a reduced chance of picking the card.

This card game completely ruined this event for me.

"Do not aim for crownless wins." Like there's any kind of way to actually aim for specific wins in this completely random bs game when he's able to just win in a single move. Whoever designed this game is clearly masochistic or too lazy to play test.
