How to Unlock A True Arena Champion

Help an Exile Near Remnant Residence

A True Arena Champion, also known as The Hidden Truth in the Trophies screen, unlocks after saving an Exile located at an unmarked island north of Remnant Residence.

After defeating all of the enemies and talking to the Exile, the Side Quest will be added to your Quest List.

Co-Op Mode Will Become Unavailable

A True Arena Champion will lock you out of the Co-Op features of the game until you finish the entire quest. If you are having issues connecting with other players through Co-Op, it may be because you have this quest active.

A True Arena Champion Walkthrough

Find Zeyuan at the Exile Camp

Meet up and talk to Zeyuan in front of the Exile Camp near Remnant Residence, then speak with some of the Exiles in the camp to gauge the situation. Afterwards, Zeyuan will have your access pass ready for you to register into the competition.

Complete the First Trial

The first trial will need you to retrieve a gun from the top of the building that the Receptionist is standing at. Follow the quest marker and ascend the building with a combination of wall climbing and gliding to reach your destination.

Return to the Receptionist and receive your first badge for completing this trial.

Complete the Second Trial

This trial needs you to complete a shooting challenge. Make sure to use any of your Pistol Resonators like Chixia in order to finish the trial within the 2-minute time limit.

Return to the Receptionist and receive your second badge for completing this trial.

Complete the Final Trial

Head over to the quest marker after setting the Time to 17:00 and talk to the Exile Resonator. You will be asked to defeat an Echo in battle, and will complete the trial after the fact.

Receive the final badge from doing this, and submit all three badges to the Receptionist and complete your registration.

How to Pass Time

Enter the Seaside Arena

After arriving at the Seaside Arena, the competition begins, where you have to withstand three waves of battles each increasing in difficulty.

After successfully defeating all enemies, talk to the Gladiator Champion and Exile Resonator, then set the Time to 12:00 on the following in-game day to begin the final battle.

Defeat Arena Champion

Defeat Gladiator Champion's First Phase

Follow the quest marker to the arena and face off with the Gladiator Champion. He spawns two Chasm Guardian Echoes to fight alongside him, but keep your focus on the Gladiator Champion as defeating him will end the first phase of the battle.

Defeat Gladiator Champion's Second Phase

The second phase will trigger after his first defeat, and he will spawn Prism Echoes to aid him in battle. Take out all of the Prism Echoes first as they power him up, then focus all of your attacks on the Gladiator Champion after.

The Gladiator Champion is officially defeated after the second phase and will end the quest after you have properly talked to and bid farewell to the people marked at the Exile Camp.

Unlocks the A Desperate Gamble Trophy

Completing this Side Quest will unlock the trophy A Desperate Gamble despite the description of the trophy stating to "Complete the Hidden Truth".
