How to Unlock The Lost Melody
Progress through Chapter 3 Act 1
The Lost Melody is automatically unlocked once you reach a certain point of Chapter 3 Act 1: What Burns Beneath Frostlands.
You will need the Expedition Motorcycle if you have not unlocked the various Resonance Nexii and Reasonance Beacons all across Lahai-Roi for easier travel.

The Lost Melody Walkthrough
Talk to the Soliskin
To start the quest, head on over to the Jetrified Ridge, and go to its highest peak. On there is a Soliskin singing by themselves, and requests your help to find his friends in other locations.
Photo Location #1 - Argentflare Drapes
The first location is found near Argentflare Drapes. There should be a campsite near the water that has floating musical notes visible. If you can hear musical chimes in the background, you are close to the location.
Help Mi Catch the Correct Musical Note
The goal for this location is to help Mi catch the correct musical note that floated around the campsite. The correct one should explode with a green light when hit by an attack.
Photo Location #2 - Mawburrow Desert
The second location is very close to the Resonance Nexus near the Mawburrow Desert. It is just a short walk away, so it is hard to miss.
Defeat the Lemmings
Here, you will have to help the Soliskin get back the musical score from the Lemmings. This is basically whack-a-mole, where you attack the Lemmings as they appear from the underground burrows.
Photo Location #3 - Golden Spiral
The third location of the Soliskin can be found south of the Golden Spiral race track. If you can see a Spacetrek Mech that is glowing red, that is where the quest marker is.
Use Projector to Summon Zip Zap
The goal here is to use your Projector utility to bring out a Zip Zap to fix the Spacetrek Mech that is trapping the Soliskin underneath. You will have to fight it afterwards.
Use Nearby Tacet Discord Nest to Get Zip Zap
If you do not own a Zip Zap Echo yet at this point, you can make use of the nearby Tacet Discord Nest to farm for one.
Regroup with the Soliskin
After completing all three locations, head back to where you met Fa in starting the Exploration Quest. He should have more Soliskin with him at this point.
Play the Melody with the Soliskin
The Soliskin gives you a note as a hint to what order of notes you need to play in order to awaken the flying fish petrified on the cliffside.
Use either a Gun-using Resonator that can aim when doing a Heavy Attack, or use the Hoverdroid: Shooter utility to fire at the notes.
Ride the Awakened Flying Fish
Once the music has been played, the petrified fish have been awakened, and one perches on the cliffside. Climb up on its back and ride it to finish the quest!
