Cartethyia is Officially a Playable Character
Yes, Cartethyia is a a playable character in Wuthering Waves, starting in Version 2.4. Her first banner went up last June 12, 2025 with future rerun banners most likely featuring our Wandering Knight.

Who is Cartethyia?
The Speculated Blessed Maiden
Much rumor and intrigue swirl throughout Rinascita about the legendary Blessed Maiden, the prophesied Enlightened One said to commune with Divinity. A woman resembling Cartethyia is often portrayed at the forefront of her sacred art.
But the truth is far more complex, for Cartethyia's true nature is shrouded in sacrifice, defiance, and a past bound to the Threnodian itself.
Actually the Threnodian's Resonator
As the Rover channels the three swords in Avinoleum, they glimpse Cartethyia’s past. This reveals she was Fleurdelys, a Resonator born of the Threnodian Leviathan, the source of the Dark Tide threatening Rinascita.
However, Fleurdelys chose to resist its will, turning away from the darkness she was born of, in order to aid the Sentinel Imperator instead.
Savior of the Dark Tide
As the Threnodian stirs, Fleurdelys fulfills the Imperator’s will, sacrificing herself to stop the Dark Tide. But in her weakened state, the Threnodian binds itself to her, corrupting her from within.
In a final act of defiance, Fleurdelys splits her essence into Cartethyia, along with two sacred swords, sealing herself within the Avinoleum. There, she awaits the chosen one who can put an end to her and the Threnodian.
The Maiden, The Defier, and The Death Crier
The events of Chapter 2 Act 4 aptly reveal Cartethyia as the embodiment of all three titles. She is the Blessed Maiden, prophesied to restore Rinascita into its true form. She is the Defier, who challenged the will of the Threnodian.
And finally, she is the Death Crier Fleurdelys, a part of Cartethyia’s whole, whose self-sacrificing role was to seal the Threnodian within her and prevent another Dark Tide from descending upon Rinascita until the bitter end.
