Negative Status are effects that certain resonators apply to enemies in Wuthering Waves. Learn all the negative status effects, how elements work in the game, and more!
List of Contents
From the release of Version 2.0, Wuthering Waves has made it so that status effects can now stack on enemies, instead of the effects stacking on our characters alone.
It is not a universal element mechanic rework and only certain Resonator moves can inflict Negative Status if explicitly mentioned.
Negative Status | Effects |
---|---|
![]() |
・Spectro Frazzle deals Spectro DMG to the target at regular intervals during its duration, while reducing one stack of Spectro Frazzle effect. ・The DMG inflicted by the effect depends on the Resonator level, the enemy's DEF and RES, and the number of stacks. ・It is not influenced by the Resonator's ATK, Crit Rate, and other factors. Only certain Spectro attacks inflict a stackable Spectro Frazzle effect. |
![]() |
・Aero Erosion inflicts Aero DMG on the target at regular intervals as long as it lasts, with more stacks resulting in greater damage. Only certain Aero attacks will inflict stackable Aero Erosion on enemies. |
![]() |
・While Electro Flare is active, it weakens the target's ATK, with more stacks further reducing their strength. Only certain Electro attacks will inflict stackable Electro Flare on enemies. |
![]() |
・Once Fusion Burst hits its max stacks, it ignites and removes the stacks, dealing Fusion DMG. Only certain Fusion attacks will inflict stackable Fusion Burst on enemies. |
![]() |
・As Glacio Chafe stacks increase, the target's speed gradually decreases. ・Upon reaching max stacks, the target is frozen, and the stacks of Glacio Chafe are removed. Only certain Glacio attacks will inflict stackable Glacio Chafe on enemies. |
![]() |
・Havoc Bane accumulates stacks automatically while it remains active. ・Once it reaches its maximum stacks, it deals Havoc DMG to the target, removes Havoc Bane, and applies Havoc Bane to nearby characters. Only certain Havoc attacks will inflict Havoc Bane on enemies. |
Negative Status effect for players are retained and will still work as normal! They will mostly debuff your characters the same way as Negative Statuses so don't let them stack on your Resonator!

There are a total of six elements in Wuthering Waves. Each Resonator is assigned one of these six elements that dictate their damage type.
Each Resonator's attacks deal elemental damage, that means there are no neutral or physical attacks present in the game.
Character Tier List | Best Characters
Wuthering Waves call elements with a unique name: Attributes. If you see this word in any of the character kit, the game is pertaining to elements.
With certain Resonators, players can apply negative status effects on enemies. This is not universal though and the Resonator's kit should support Negative Status effect application.
So far, only Spectro Rover can apply the negative status effect Spectro Frazzle.
In Wuthering Waves, there are no elemental reactions to take advantage of and enemies have no elemental weaknesses to exploit.
Damage output is based solely on offensive stats like ATK, Critical Chance, Critical DMG, as well as skill multipliers.
Some enemies are resistant to certain elements, reducing the damage they take. Other enemies are straight up immune to an element and do not take damage at all.
It's recommended to have a well-balanced team composition so you won't have problems dealing with enemies resistant or immune to specific elements.
Characters with the same elements on one team do not receive bonuses. When building a team, it's best to focus on having characters with multiple elements and good synergy.
Some Resonators like Danjin and Aalto have Outro Skills that increase the elemental damage (Amplified) of the next character you swap into combat.
If you use such characters, build your team around them to maximize your damage output.
