How to Unlock Sixteen Centimillion Bits
Enroll in Startorch Academy During Chapter 3 Act 1
To unlock Sixteen Centimillion Bits, you need to be an official student of Startorch Academy. This happens sometime within Chapter 3 Act 1: What Burns Beneath Frostlands.

Sixteen Centimillion Bits Walkthrough
Talk to Songdis
Talk to Songdis, who can be found near the arcade center close to Spacetrek Archives. She will then invite you to go to Bjartr Woods for inspiration for a chiptune musical piece.
Head to Bjartr Woods
Head on over to Bjartr Woods to meet up with Songdis again. She invites you to go deeper into the woods and interact with a Soliskin for some inspiration for her piece.
Play Minigames with the Soliskin
From here, all interactions with the Soliskin are basically minigames. They are not particularly hard, and simply make use of pattern recognition to follow.
Minigame #1
The first minigame involves jumping onto some Hopshrooms in the exact same pattern the Soliskin would demonstrate first. Doing it properly will give a Basic Supply Chest.
Minigame #2
Head southwest for the second minigame, which is similar to the musical note minigame done near the end of the Exploration Quest The Lost Melody.
The rules are simple: the Soliskin will first play the order of notes you need to follow. Use a Gun-wielding Resonator that can aim like Chixia and Aalto, or equip the Hoverdroid Shooter utility to follow along. Complete this to obtain a Basic Supply Chest.
Minigame #2 - Additional Task
This one is highly missable if you immediately go to the third Minigame. You can do the minigame again, but this time the order of notes done are in reverse. You can let the Soliskin do the regular pattern, but doing it in reverse will be all on you.
Doing this will reward you with a second Basic Supply Chest afterwards.
Minigame #3
The third minigame involves Hopshrooms once again. All you have to do it follow 3 rounds of patterns of jumping on the Hopshroom, using the Hopshrooms opposite that of the Soliskin.
Completing all 3 rounds will finish the Side Quest proper, and will reward the player with a Tidal Supply Chest afterwards.
Wait on Music Production for 2 Days
As an after mission, 2 days (in-game) after completing the Side Quest, Songdis will contact you again and reward you with a new track she herself made.
You do not have to be anywhere near Bjartr Woods for her to contact you as part of the Side Quest. She will do it automatically after 2 in-game days to the hour and minute since the Quest complation has passed.
Adjust Using In-Game Clock
Make sure to check the time of the in-game clock. Adjust it if preferred in order for Songdis to contact you faster.

This can be played in the Heart Radio Channel while riding your Expedition Motorcycle in Lahai-Roi, and in the Archive of Melodies in Rinascita!
A Total of 4 Chests Can Be Opened
There are 4 Chests that can be obtained in totlal after playing with the Soliskin's minigame to complete the Side Quest: 3 Basic Supply Chests and 1 Tidal Supply Chest.
