How to Unlock Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise

Explore the Area East of Thessaleo's Fells' Nexus

To unlock the Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise exploration quest, players must explore the encircled area in the image above until they overhear a woman, Itzel, speaking. After hearing her, the quest gets added to the quest journal.

Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise Walkthrough

Talk to Itzel and Enter Resounding Rise

Follow the quest marker and talk to Itzel to inquire about the sound and talk about going into the Resounding Rise. Afterward, head into the latter on the opposite side of the path.

Enter the Painting and Fight Abyssal Mercator

Once inside, go down the stairs, head towards the painting on the other side of the room, and enter it. Be wary that lasers will start homing and firing upon entering the open room. Avoid them by sprinting and dashing.

After getting transported, drop down to the lower floor, turn around, and move straight ahead. The Abyssal Mercator will spawn and fire a laser. Avoid the laser and chip away at the enemy's health until it flees. When it does, follow the quest marker to enter another painting behind closed doors.

Head to the Painting Puzzle Room

Fight Abyssal Mercator Again

Afterward, follow the path and prepare to get ambushed and fight the Abyssal Mercator again until it eventually leaves. Once it does, head down the left path and continue following it to arrive at a tall, narrow hallway where laser projectiles will start firing.

Dash and Sprint straight ahead until the end of the hallway, then enter the slightly hidden staircase to the right, climb it, and fight the Abyssal Mercator for the third time until it flees. Proceed through the painting on the wall after it does.

Defeat the Questless Knight

After teleporting, drop to the lower level and head into the left path. Face and defeat the Questless Knight and continue following the quest marker to arrive at the Painting Puzzle Room.

Solve the Painting Puzzle

Players must assign each painting to the appropriate frames based on the latter's description to solve the puzzle. The image above shows the correct answers.

Open the chest that spawns and head into the painting once more.

Defeat Abyssal Mercator and Talk to Itzel

Once at the destination, go to the boss room and defeat the Abyssal Mercator. Afterward, head into the center of the room to trigger a cutscene, then talk to Itzel nearby to complete the quest and receive a chest containing a Lustrous Tide.

Players may reenter the Resounding Rise to open any missed chests.
