Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Easy to use with simple Combos • Can carry Early Game and turn into a Sub-DPS later • Easy to obtain Resonance Chain via progression • Holds value for Spectro Frazzle strategies |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• All-Rounder that falls behind Specialized units • Is outdone by their own Havoc Form |
Rover (Spectro) is a strong all-around character, who has recently found new use as a Spectro Frazzle enabler. They're a lot easier to upgrade compared to other characters since you can get their materials by just doing Main Quests, gathering Sonance Caskets, and completing Guidebook Milestones.
However, at later levels, they get outclassed by other characters pulled from banners, who can specialize in damage or support. Their own Havoc form can also disincentivize Spectro form's use. That being said, they're still good at being a Sub-DPS, especially now with their newfound Spectro Frazzle utility.

Rover (Spectro) is a Spectro Sub-DPS who appreciates any offensive stat boost, alongside Energy Regen to have their Resonance Liberation available more often when on-field. They can carry the early game, and then transition into a more supportive role later on through applying Spectro Frazzle and Shimmer on enemies while still contributing damage.

★★★ - Best The newly introduced Eternal Radiance Echoes are now the best ones for Rover (Spectro) as they provide up to 25% Spectro DMG Bonus, as well as a 20% Crit Rate increase. As Rover (Spectro) can now apply Spectro Frazzle on enemies (after finishing the Version 2.0 Prologue), they can easily stack the needed Spectro Frazzle stacks. Recommended Main Echo: |
![]() (5-pc) |
★★☆ - 2nd Best Using Rover (Spectro) as a Sub-DPS allows them to have Moonlit Clouds as a budget option that provides more supportive utility for your main DPS. The Impernance Heron and the Sonata Effect both provide buffs that Rover (Spectro) can pass on to a stronger ally, cementing their role as a supportive member of the team. Recommended Main Echo: |
![]() (5-pc) |
★☆☆ - 3rd Best This is a niche third option for a Rover (Spectro) being used as a support unit due to their 4th Sequence Chain node allowing them to heal a little with their Resonance Liberation. Using this set moves them into an even more supportive playstyle, coming in to heal with their Liberation and apply Spectro Frazzle before swapping out. Recommended Main Echo: |

The wielder gains 1 stack of Searing Feather upon dealing damage, which can be triggered once every 0.5s, and gains 5 stacks of the same effect upon casting Resonance Skill. Each stack of Searing Feather gives 4% additional Resonance Skill DMG Bonus for up to 14 stacks. After reaching the max stacks, all stacks will be removed in 12s. |

Intergalactic Gaze Casting the Resonance Skill grants 6 Resonance Energy and increases ATK by 10% lasting for 16s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s. |

Rhetoric Dealing DMG to enemies with Negative Statuses increases the wielder's ATK by 4% for 10s. This effect can be triggered 1 time per second, stackable up to 4 times. |
Blazing Brilliance is the best premium option for Rover (Spectro), as they like to spam their Resonance Skill on-field and can take advantage of the Skill DMG increase it provides. Following this is the Emerald Genesis, which provides solid stats and buffs alongside some Energy Regen, allowing Rover (Spectro) to cast their Liberation more often. Their best budget option is the Overture, as even though it lacks direct offensive buffs, its Energy Regen% stat and passive effect allow it to battery Rover (Spectro) very well for even more Liberation activations.

With the release of Phoebe, Spectro Rover has found a new niche as a Spectro Frazzle-centric Sub-DPS through their Shimmer Status application, which prevents Spectro Frazzle from timing down.
With Shorekeeper as their support, Spectro Rover can take on the role of Spectro Frazzle applier to enable Phoebe's damage when she switches in.
1 | Start the battle with Shorekeeper use her abilities to charge her Resonance Liberation, then use it to summon her Stellarealm. |
---|---|
2 | Once the Concerto Gauge is maxed out, switch over to Rover (Spectro) to activate their intro skill and upgrade the Stellarealm. |
3 | As Rover (Spectro), use your Basic and Heavy Attacks to charge your Forte Gauge to at least half-full, building Spectro Frazzle on enemies in the process. |
4 | Use their Resonance Skill with at least half of their Forte Gauge to apply even more Spectro Frazzle, as well as the Shimmer debuff. |
5 | Once Shimmer is applied, and preventing Spectro Frazzle from counting down, make sure the Concerto Gauge is maxed before swapping to Phoebe. |
6 | Phoebe's intro skill will upgrade the Stellarealm one more time, giving her its full buffs for her own DPS rotations. While DPS-ing as Phoebe, be sure to charge Concerto energy again. |
7 | Make sure the Concerto Gauge is charged, then swap back to Shorekeeper to detonate the Stellarealm. Repeat until all enemies are defeated. |

While you are just starting out, this team composition will carry you while you are still trying to get your first 5-star Main DPS. The team revolves around Yangyang generating Energy for Rover (Spectro) for them to use their Ultimate.
Baizhi will be the team's healer unless you already pulled Verina early on, or have Shorekeeper available.
1 | Yangyang starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until the Resonator icons of the other characters glow up. She can use her Ultimate to group up small enemies and then use her Skill to damage the enemies before getting swapped out. |
---|---|
2 | Once Rover (Spectro) is fully charged, you can switch to them, which triggers their Intro Skill. This makes Rover (Spectro) deal Spectro DMG when they enter the field. Switching from Yangyang to the Rover (Spectro) will allow them to recover some Resonance Energy for a few seconds. |
3 | When Rover (Spectro)'s Resonance Liberation can be used, use it to dish out some AoE Spectro DMG. Then, follow it up with some Basic Attacks and their Heavy Attack variations to charge the Forte Gauge, use their Skill, and do some Basic Attacks again while charging Concerto Energy. |
4 | Switch back to Yangyang once the Intro Skill has fully charged up. If you need healing, switch to your Support instead. |
5 | Repeat the steps until all enemies are gone! |

In mid to late game, when you have multiple 5-star characters and will need more than one team in the Tower of Adversity, you can relegate Rover (Spectro) to the Sub-DPS role.
With them being a jack of all trades, Rover (Spectro) can fit in any team since their Outro Skill can create Stasis and slow down enemies for some time.
The Main DPS of the team will depend on the characters in your account that will best fill that role, although we recommend selecting Shorekeeper as their support mainly for her Inherent Skill 2 which specifically benefits the Rover by granting an Energy Regen buff while being in range of her Stellarealm.
Character | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() | Main DPS Character Encore is a strong DPS character and is also easy to use. She starts dealing a lot of damage when Encore uses her Ultimate and enters Cosmos Rave. |
![]() | Support Character Verina is able to grant the team an all-type DMG deepen while also dealing off-field Coordinated Attacks and healing her allies. |
![]() | Support Character Baizhi is a free-to-play option that can provide some healing and even buff healed characters' damage. |
1 | Shorekeeper enters the battle first and charges her Resonance Liberation. Cast it once available to place down her Stellarealms and enable the Energy Regen buff (if you have her Inherent Skill 2 unlocked), then switch to Rover (Spectro). |
---|---|
2 | While Rover (Spectro) is in the field, build toward their Resonance Liberation, cast when ready, and switch to the team's Main DPS. The stasis Outro Skill of Rover (Spectro) will trigger, slowing down time for 3 seconds. |
3 | Use the Main DPS' optimal combo to maximize their damage on the field. Continue using the Main DPS until the Concerto Energy has been fully charged. |
4 | Switch back to Rover (Spectro) once the Concerto Energy has been fully charged and take advantage of the Stellarealm's buff on their Energy Regen if still available. If you need healing, switch to Shorekeeper instead. |
5 | Repeat the steps until defeating all the enemies on the field. |
Rover (Spectro) Gameplay Guide |
---|
|
① | Open with their Intro Skill to fill their Forte Gauge to half, followed by their Enhanced Resonance Skill. |
---|---|
② | Begin comboing Basic Attacks 1 and 2 into a Heavy Attack to charge Forte Gauge for more Enhanced Skills. Repeat until you can activate their Resonance Liberation. |
③ | Use Rover's Resonance Liberation when it's available, and make sure that the Concerto Gauge is fully charged before swapping. |
④ | Swap to your next character, activating Rover's Outro Skill and inflicting stasis crowd control on nearby enemies. |
When Rover (Spectro) is on-field, you want to charge their Forte Circuit gauge optimally by doing the combos that end with them using Heavy Attack: Aftertune.
This is because Heavy Attack: Aftertune provides a lot of Diminutive Sound to charge Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit gauge!
Whenever Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Gauge is charged halfway, their Enhanced Resonance Skill, Resonating Spin, becomes available. Use it, and then follow it up with Resonating Echoes by pressing the Basic Attack button.
After the quest, Through the Sea Thou Break, Rover's Enhanced Resonance Skill applies the Shimmer debuff to enemies while stacking Spectro Frazzle. This is what gives them utility for Spectro Frazzle teams, as an enabler.
Rover (Spectro)'s ultimate deals a burst AoE Spectro DMG and is not a prerequisite to trigger any of their abilities. So, it can be used whenever it is available to deal a large amount of damage instantly.
Rover (Spectro)'s Outro Skill does not provide any type of buff to the character switching, but instead creates a stasis field around the on-field character that stops time for 3 seconds!
When you unlock Rover (Spectro)'s fourth Sequence Node, you can turn them into a pseudo-healer since casting their Ultimate can heal allies for 5 seconds.
Combo |
---|
Intro Skill → Echo Skill → Resonance Skill: Resonating Spin → BA: Resonating Echoes → Swap |
This combo is used to apply Spectro Frazzle and Shimmer as quickly as possible, having the Rover act as an enabler more than a damage dealer. Once it's done, swap to your main DPS so they can exploit the inflicted debuffs!
Make sure to activate Rover's Intro skill to instantly fill their Forte Gauge to half for an Enhanced Skill. You can also throw in Rover's Resonance Liberation if it's available before swapping out, for a bit more damage.
Combo |
---|
Echo Skill → BA1 → BA2 → Heavy Attack: Aftertune → Heavy Attack: Resonance → Resonance Skill: Resonating Spin → BA: Resonating Echoes → Repeat Until Resonance Liberation is Charged → Resonance Liberation → Outro Skill |
When using Rover as a main DPS, cycle through their Basic Attacks and Heavy Attack: Aftertune to charge their Forte Gauge, then follow it up with their Enhanced Resonance skill. Do this until they can use their Resonance Liberation, then use it and swap out.
This extended combo still works in Spectro Frazzle teams if you want Rover to have more field time, or if your support is someone like Shorekeeper who wants the Concerto Gauge to be maxed before switching for Intro Skills.

Skill | Priority | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Normal Attack | ★★★★☆ | Similar to Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit, their Basic Attack is also a high-priority upgrade due to it improving a lot of Rover (Spectro)'s abilities such as their normal Basic Attack, HA: Resonance, and HA: Aftertune. |
Resonance Skill | ★★★☆☆ | After upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Basic Attack and Forte Circuit, their Resonance Skill should be upgraded next as it increases the damage of Resonating Slashes, the skill that Rover (Spectro) will cast if their Forte Gauge is not full. |
Forte Circuit | ★★★★☆ | Upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit will increase the damage of Resonating Spin, Resonating Whirl, and Resonating Echoes. Given that the abilities mentioned should always be used when Rover (Spectro) is on-field, upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit is a high priority. |
Resonance Liberation | ★★★★★ | A chunk of Rover (Spectro)'s damage comes from their Ultimate. So, this ability should be upgraded first. |
Intro Skill | ★★☆☆☆ | After upgrading all the abilities above, Rover (Spectro)'s Intro Skill should then be upgraded. Upgrading it only increases their Intro Skill's damage. |
The bulk of Spectro Rover's damage will come from their Resonance Liberation, so focus on upgrading that first. Next, upgrade their Forte Circuit and Normal Attack to deal damage outside of their Liberation.
Lastly, it is also important to level up their Resonance Skill so they can deal decent damage if their Forte Circuit gauge is not full.
During the Version 2.0 Prologue quest Through the Sea Thou Break, Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Skill will receive an update. Resonance Skill: Resonating Spin now also applies Spectro Frazzle as well as Shimmer, which prevents the decrease of Spectro Frazzle stacks.
