Rover (Spectro) is an F2P-friendly unit capable of fitting into multiple team compositions and staying quite relevant in the game. As the main character, players will have easy access to their full Resonance Chain, providing some value despite being a free character.
Rover is also one of three characters that can apply Spectro Frazzle stacks, making them essential in teams with Zani or Phoebe. Rover's versatility, however, is also their weakness. Despite having a mixed bag of things to offer, they fall behind specialized units that the game tends to favor when building teams.

Rover (Spectro) is best built as a sub-DPS for their Spectro Frazzle application. Energy Regen is a top priority for better rotations, given that their Liberation is the primary source of Frazzle stacks but can be less prioritized after getting S3. Balance their CRIT stats and get two Spectro DMG pieces as you play through the game.
For damage, it'll mainly come from their Liberation and Resonance Skill casts, so getting a few DMG bonus substats for them are recommended. Alternative builds are also quite viable, with Eternal Radiance being good for a more damage-focused setup. Starting S4, you gain some healing capabilities, which allows for Rejuvenating Glow to be used.

A secondary option considered more premium is Blazing Brilliance, if Rover has a more damage-oriented build in certain teams. As for 4-star options, Overture would be the most ideal for its Energy Regen, followed by Endless Collapse and Fables of Wisdom.

In Spectro Frazzle teams, Rover (Spectro) works as a Sub-DPS to provide essential Spectro Frazzle stacks and buffs to the team. They will work best with a dedicated DPS like Zani or Phoebe who can maximize Rover's debuff application.
Team them up with Shorekeeper to further get team-wide buffs and extra healing for better sustainability.

While you are just starting out, this team composition will carry you while you are still trying to get your first 5-star Main DPS. The team revolves around Yangyang generating Energy for Rover (Spectro) for them to use their Ultimate.
Baizhi will be the team's healer unless you already pulled Verina early on, or have Shorekeeper available.

In mid to late game, when you have multiple 5-star characters and will need more than one team in the Tower of Adversity, you can relegate Rover (Spectro) to the Sub-DPS role.
With them being a jack of all trades, Rover (Spectro) can fit in any team since their Outro Skill can create Stasis and slow down enemies for some time.
The Main DPS of the team will depend on the characters in your account that will best fill that role, although we recommend selecting Shorekeeper as their support mainly for her Inherent Skill 2 which specifically benefits the Rover by granting an Energy Regen buff while being in range of her Stellarealm.

When Rover (Spectro) is on-field, you want to charge their Forte Circuit gauge optimally by doing the combos that end with them using Heavy Attack: Aftertune.
This is because Heavy Attack: Aftertune provides a lot of Diminutive Sound to charge Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit gauge!
Whenever Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Gauge is charged halfway, their Enhanced Resonance Skill, Resonating Spin, becomes available. Use it, and then follow it up with Resonating Echoes by pressing the Basic Attack button.
After the quest, Through the Sea Thou Break, Rover's Enhanced Resonance Skill applies the Shimmer debuff to enemies while stacking Spectro Frazzle. This is what gives them utility for Spectro Frazzle teams, as an enabler.

Rover (Spectro)'s ultimate deals a burst AoE Spectro DMG and is not a prerequisite to trigger any of their abilities. So, it can be used whenever it is available to deal a large amount of damage instantly.
Rover (Spectro)'s Outro Skill does not provide any type of buff to the character switching, but instead creates a stasis field around the on-field character that stops time for 3 seconds!

When you unlock Rover (Spectro)'s fourth Sequence Node, you can turn them into a pseudo-healer since casting their Ultimate can heal allies for 5 seconds.

This combo is used to apply Spectro Frazzle and Shimmer as quickly as possible, having the Rover act as an enabler more than a damage dealer. Once it's done, swap to your main DPS so they can exploit the inflicted debuffs!
Make sure to activate Rover's Intro skill to instantly fill their Forte Gauge to half for an Enhanced Skill. You can also throw in Rover's Resonance Liberation if it's available before swapping out, for a bit more damage.

When using Rover as a main DPS, cycle through their Basic Attacks and Heavy Attack: Aftertune to charge their Forte Gauge, then follow it up with their Enhanced Resonance skill. Do this until they can use their Resonance Liberation, then use it and swap out.
This extended combo still works in Spectro Frazzle teams if you want Rover to have more field time, or if your support is someone like Shorekeeper who wants the Concerto Gauge to be maxed before switching for Intro Skills.

The bulk of Spectro Rover's damage will come from their Resonance Liberation, so focus on upgrading that first. Next, upgrade their Forte Circuit and Normal Attack to deal damage outside of their Liberation.
Lastly, it is also important to level up their Resonance Skill so they can deal decent damage if their Forte Circuit gauge is not full.
During the Version 2.0 Prologue quest Through the Sea Thou Break, Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Skill will receive an update. Resonance Skill: Resonating Spin now also applies Spectro Frazzle as well as Shimmer, which prevents the decrease of Spectro Frazzle stacks.

Hello WuWa players, Any tips for applying efficiently and durably 10 Spectro Frazzle stacks while playing Spectro Rover? I know the Basic Attack 3 + Heavy Attack which helps restoring their Forte Gauge faster. But whatever combos I tried, it seems difficult to apply stacks without staying on field for a pretty long time. I only manage to do it when casting Ultimate skill, then using Resonance Skill at least two times. And after switching to Zani, stacks only last for a few seconds... Thanks!
