Mya was a gladiator in Septimont who was being corrupted by the Threnodian Leviathan in Wuthering Waves. Learn about Mya's lore, how she became the Lady of the Sea, and if Mya will be a playable character here!
List of Contents
Mya originally hailed from Ragunna City and was a devout follower of Imperator through The Order of the Deep. She later moved to Septimont to pursue a career as a Gladiator, hiding her faith to avoid scrutiny, since Septimont is a nation that does not worship a Sentinel.
However, this very connection to the divinity made her vulnerable to Leviathan’s corruption, as she had been unknowingly communing with the form of Imperator that had already merged with the Threnodian.
It is also known that the blue gem fought over by Phrolova and the Rover, then obtained by Cristoforo during the Main Quest Dreamcatchers in the Secret Gardens, originally belonged to Mya. It was taken from a piece of jewelry she had melted down to forge her gladiator gear when she first transitioned into life in Septimont.
Dreamcatchers in the Secret Gardens Quest Guide
Because of Mya’s performance in the Arena, much of Septimont’s Senate capitalized on the intrigue surrounding her hysteria to divert public frustration away from their own shortcomings.
She was also exploited by her manager, John, who dismissed her deteriorating mental state as part of her “ability” as a Gladiator and even rigged matches to guarantee her victories. Despite all of this, Mya’s love for Septimont never wavered, and her devotion to the Arena remained unchanged.
Before the Great Agon adopted the two-versus-two format it uses today, its earlier structure was far more brutal, pitting gladiators against hordes of TDs within the Arena. The lone survivor of these matches earned the title of Bloody Agon which Mya was able to achieve.
Although, before she was able to officially claim her title as The Great Agon's champion, she mysteriously vanished, leaving behind countless rumors and speculation.
Mya struggled constantly against the Threnodian’s influence as it attempted to consume her in order to find Septimont's Central Hub or to covertly infiltrate the nation's governing body. Witness accounts often described her falling into bouts of hysteria during her battles in the Arena. This torment ultimately came to an end after her victory in the Great Agon.
What was believed to be a mysterious disappearance was, in truth, Mya taking her own life. She stabbed herself and cast her body into the ocean in a desperate attempt to halt the corruption.
Mya’s body was later recovered and handed over to the Fractsidus by Julia Silva. Her remains were subjected to numerous tests by Cristoforo in an attempt to commune with Leviathan due to her connection with the Threnodian.
During this process, a fragment of Leviathan resonated with Mya’s remains after being freed from Avinoleum when the Rover struck down Fleurdelys. This turned Mya into the Lady of the Sea and allowed Cristoforo to use her as a conduit to communicate with the Threnodian.
Lady of the Sea Location and Guide
Although Mya was a resonator with a visible Tacet Mark, the possibility of her becoming a playable character is low. This is considering that her physical form later became the Lady of the Sea, who is currently a World Boss you can farm for Ascension materials.
