Wuthering Waves features a multiplayer co-op system where other players can join a host's world. See all the game's multiplayer features, how to unlock co-op, and how to play with other Rovers in this guide!

Wuthering Waves supports online multiplayer co-op up to three players with one player acting as a host. Most multiplayer functions will be reliant on the host's game status, but the player's own game will be unaffected.
Though Wuthering Waves supports cooperative multiplayer, it does not have any PvP or Player vs Player component. You can however, compete on certain co-op events that has since been added into the game!
Is There PVP in Wuthering Waves?

The Co-op function that allows players to enter Multiplayer and visit others in their respective worlds will be unlocked once the player reaches Union Level 22.

| Permission | Effect |
|---|---|
| Join Upon Approval | Friends and other players can only join your world after approving their consent. |
| Public | Friends and other players can join your world at any time, without consent. |
| Closed | Closes your world to Co-Op mode entirely. |
| Friends Only | Only players from your Friends list can join your world. |
Before inviting players into your own world, make sure your Multiplayer Co-Op permission setting isn’t set to Closed, as this will prevent anyone from joining your world. You can adjust this by selecting Co-Op Mode from the main menu, then opening the permission settings in the top-left corner of the Co-Op list.

| * | Apart from being online, Friends also have to set their Co-Op Permissions to Join Upon Approval, Public, or Friends Only in order to access their world in Co-Op mode. If a friend's SOL-3 phase level is higher than yours, they will have to join your world instead. |

|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() On the game's main menu, head to the second page and select the Co-Op Mode icon. |
| 2 | ![]() This will generate a list of players currently available for Co-Op Mode. Each player card shows a counter in the center that indicates how many players are already in their world and how many slots remain. When you’re ready to join, select the Join Co-Op button on the right side of their player card to begin and start playing together. |
| * | Conversely, setting your Co-Op permissions to Join Upon Approval or Public allows your account to appear on other players’ Co-Op lists, making your world accessible to them. Depending on the option you choose, Rovers who aren’t on your friends list can enter your world either after you approve their request or freely at any time if you’ve set it to Public. |

You can host your world to let your friends join or enter other worlds and team up with others to defeat enemies. This should improve farming as you'll have companions helping out against tougher fights.
How to Add and Play with Friends

You can also chat other players via the chat function located on the lower right of the screen! Communicate with your friends and have fun with the different emotes you can send to your teammates!
As of this writing, there is no implemented Voice Chat for Wuthering Waves nor any announcements about the feature. This page will be updated if new information is released!

Items dropped by enemies in multiplayer will be shared with nearby players! Drop sharing has a limited radius, so be aware of how far away you are from other players in co-op when picking items up.
Note that items that must be picked up can only be acquired by one player. Be careful when picking these up as the Host or other players may also need them.

In Multiplayer Co-op, players can attempt Forgery Challenges as a group. Each player uses their own Waveplates, not the host's. Make sure that everyone has sufficient Waveplates for which challenge you want to tackle!
Forgery Challenges and How to Unlock

You can acquire several multiplayer-only co-op achievements by playing with your friends and completing the Cross-Realm Ties list of achievements. Not only does it provide astrites for the player to use, it also gives a free sigil you can use to customize your avatar banner!

The game has added several co-op based events that are best played with co-op buddies you have! These events come and go depending on the patch so players have more incentive to play with others.
Do Echoids Dream of Electric Sheep for example, pair you with other players to deal with enemies while Apex Ragunna is a semi-competitive racing event where you compete with other players in a race!

The strength of the enemies in the overworld will be based on the SOL3 level of the player hosting the multiplayer session. This means your SOL3 Phase level must be equal to or higher than that of the host.
How to Raise Your SOL3 Phase Level
The host can interact with things like Treasure Chests or inactive Resonance Beacons. Players joining a host can also only fast-travel to points that the Host has unlocked. Also, players joining a Host do not progress their own world when completing things with their Host.
You can only engage in co-op with players who match your server region and game version. You cannot launch a co-op session if these requirements aren't met.

Coop in this game is a step forward in the right direction and I'm actually grateful for it, but It's still lacking a lot of liberties that other videogames with coop mechanics have.
