Increasing a Character's Resonance Chain Level needs Wavebands, which are a special kind of material in Wuthering Waves. Read on to learn how to increase someone's Resonance Chain Level and how to get Wavebands, as well as how to use them to improve your characters!
List of Contents

One way to get Wavebands is to pull duplicates of Resonators you already have in your account. One duplicate pulled in a Convene Banner equals to one Waveband for that respective character.

Pulling duplicates of weapons and Resonators earns the player a certain amount of Afterglow Coral, which can then be used to buy a specific Resonator's Waveband for a certain amount.
Players can only buy up to two Wavebands of a respective 5-Star Resonator at any given time. As for 4-star Resonators, they can be bought up until the maximum amount needed to completely max out the Resonance Chain.
They seem to not refill at any given point, so you might want to consider saving your Afterglow Corals for these Wavebands.

During the duration of a limited-time Convene Banner, the players can buy Wavebands of the featured Resonator in the banner. They last for the same duration as the limited-time Convene Banner, so make use of this to your advantage.
All Current and Upcoming Convene Banners

There are six Resonance Chain nodes per Resonator. That would mean to fully max out a character's Resonance Chain, they would need to have six Wavebands of that specific character.
This would mean players need to pull a specific Resonator a total of 7 times to get the Resonator and fully unlock their Resonance Chain.

Wavebands are very special items that can be used to improve the innate abilities of your Resonators through the Resonance Chain system. They can only be obtained by pulling on the Convene Banners and obtaining a duplicate copy of a Resonator you already own.
Gacha game veterams may find the Wavebands and the Resonance Chain system very familiar as a standard of the genre.
For reference, they are equivalent to the Constellation system in Genshin Impact, and the Eidolon system in Honkai Star Rail.
