Special Skills are activated on Echo Cards after they are modulated in the Peaks of Prestige TCG event in Wuthering Waves. Learn how to use Special Skills and see an explanation of all Special Skills in this guide!

The only way to activate Special Skills is through the process of Modulating cards. This would mean merging a card on your Deployment Zone with a card taken directly from your Hand.
When that happens, their stats are stacked on top of each other, and the Special Skill of the card already on your Deployment Zone will have its Special Skill activated.

As you explore the different Special Skills, might come across the Transform mechanic mentioned in their conditions. Transforming an Echo Card means placing it into the Transform Zone, which activates its Echo Skill.
Cards of this type often grant party-wide buffs or utility boosts like drawing more cards, or even regenerating Energy.

A Special Skill like Cycle is triggered when an Echo with it active is Reconstructed. This means the effect only activates when the Echo is placed into the Reconstruction Zone, returning it to your deck and granting you back Energy in the process.
Keep in mind that Reconstructing an Echo Card doesn’t remove it from play permanently. It simply shuffles it back into your draw pile for future use.

Echo Cards that have the Berserk Special Skill activated rely on having the Echo's HP downed to half of its threshold in order to deal an empowered amount of damage.
This would be even better when stacked with Resilience which allows your Echo to have another fighting chance after being downed, or Last Stand which could effectively amplify your Echo's damage to a whopping 100% increase if both of their conditions are met!

Boost, as its name implies, grants an Echo with this Special Skill a Strength (STR) increase for every round, capped at three. While the scaling is gradual, it ensures your Echo becomes progressively stronger as the battle continues.
Even if an Echo Card with Boost is modulated again, the Boost effect persists and continues to increase their Strength until the full three-round duration is completed.

Conversion is a passive draw-type Special Skill. If you have an Echo Card with Conversion in your Deployment Zone, each time you Transform any card, you'll draw one new card.

As the effect states, when an Echo has its Cycle Special Skill activated, Reconstructing it will grant you 2 additional Energy. Since Reconstructing (reshuffling) any Echo normally gives 1 Energy, doing so with Cycle active will return a total of 3 Energy.
However, keep in mind that simply Reconstructing a card with the Cycle Special Skill without activating it through Modulation (merging) will still only give you 1 Energy, as the skill must be active for the bonus to apply.

As the name implies, any Echo Card with the Explosion Special Skill will unleash a powerful burst of damage to all enemy Echoes within its radius when it is eliminated during the battle phase.
This makes Explosion especially valuable in Havoc-centric decks, which benefit from losing Echoes to accelerate the deployment of its Main Echo: Hecate.

Flank Force is a Special Skill that boosts your entire Echo team’s Damage (DMG), the amount dealt directly to the opposing duelist if your Echo survives the battle phase. This skill activates only when you have three Echoes deployed in the same line, increasing each Echo’s DMG by 1.
This Special Skill stacks per Echo with Flank Force. For example, if you have three Echoes on your backline, each with 1 activated Flank Force, then each of them will deal an additional 3 DMG. The same logic applies if each Echo has 2 stacks of Flank Force activated; they will each deal plus 6 DMG in total.

Flash is a Special Skill best suited for Echoes with high Attack Speed, allowing them to attack enemy backliners and take their aggro.This can be further enhanced by stacking it with the Forestall Special Skill, which boosts damage at the start of the round.
Together, Flash and Forestall create an effective DPS combo that lets your Echo burst down squishy backliners during the first few seconds of combat.

Invisibility is a Special Skill that initially renders the Echo untargetable, shielding them from damage until they either make an attack or 15 seconds pass. Once the invisibility ends, the Echo receives a moderate damage boost for the next 5 seconds.
This Special Skill would pair very well with Forestall, which boosts damage at the start of a round. Combined, they can raise your Echo’s output up to 80% increased damage, making for a mighty opener.

Last Stand is a Special Skill that activates when your Duelist's HP drops to 10 or lower, turning any Echo with this skill into a potential game-changing finisher. While it can enable powerful comeback plays, it's a high-risk strategy, especially if the enemy team is already overwhelming you.
This skill can synergize well with Toughness for added survivability, or with Berserk if you're aiming for an all-out offensive strategy!

Much like its name suggests, Recharge is a Special Skill that triggers when an Echo is Transformed, generating 1 point of Energy each time. While it may not be essential in every scenario, it synergizes particularly well with Spectro-centric decks, which frequently rely on Transformations.
It also works well if you use a card like Sabyr Boar, which already returns 3 Energy upon being Transformed, allowing you to gain a total of 4 Energy in a single move.

It pairs especially well with Berserk, as that Special Skill grants a significant damage boost when the Echo's HP drops below 50%, letting you capitalize on Resilience's window to deal massive damage before going down.

It’s particularly effective against Echo Cards that already have low Strength values, such as 1 or 2, where the reduction can potentially restrain their offensive potential.

When paired with Versatility, which allows unlimited Modulation, you can stack multiple Special Skills onto a single card and turn it into a devastatingly powerful Echo!

This will pair well with the Toughness Special Skill, which mitigates damage taken, making this synergy exceptionally good when activated on tanky Echoes.

Toughness grants an Echo with this Special Skill a solid amount of damage mitigation when hit. However, keep in mind that its effect does not stack. Instead, it resets the cooldown on the damage reduction each time it triggers.
Regardless of how often it's activated, an Echo with Toughness will always have 35% reduced damage.

This means you can continuously stack stats and Special Skills onto a single Echo, turning it into a formidable powerhouse on the battlefield.
This pairs especially well with the Superpower Special Skill, which grows stronger based on the number of active Special Skills on a single Echo.

Added in the Rekindled Duel update, Attunement grants a small boost to the STR and CON of the Echo with the skill, as well as its allies in the same row. This is a small but consistent bonus whose strength lies in its reach, as it affects allies in the same row.

Rally is another new skill from the Rekindled Duel TCG update. It triggers when the Echo uses an Active skill, and causes it to pull another Echo with Rally from your deck onto the field, before Reconstructing itself.
Thiss essentially allows you to cycle through your deck, gaining incremental bonuses from Active Abilities to boost your combat power.

Enhanced Rally is a stronger version of the Rally skill, also introduced in the Rekindled Duel update. It functions similarly, bringing an Echo with either Rally or Enhanced Rally out onto the field and Reconstructing itself when it uses an Active Skill.
The main difference between Rally and Enhanced Rally is that the former cannot summon Enhanced Rally cards, while the latter can summon both. To access stronger Rally cards, players will have to Modulate Echoes first.
