Chisa and Buling are the new characters released in Version 2.8. Chisa released in the first phase in her own limited banner, running from November 20 to December 11, 2025.
Buling on the other hand, will have her debut as a rate-up 4-star character in the second phase during Phrolova and Cantarella's banner from December 11 to December 24, 2025. She should then join the standard 4-star pool after Version 2.8, like how Lumi and Youhu did last time.

As of Version 2.8, there are currently 40 playable characters. Specifically there are 31 playable female characters, and 9 playable male characters.
This doesn't include Rover which can either be male or female based on your choice. If we include their three forms, the number of unique playable characters with their own kits rise up to 43.

How to Get Characters
Summon From Convene Banners
The primary way to obtain Resonators in Wuthering Waves, especially the 5-stars, is to summon them through the Convene banners using a premium currency called Astrite.
With Wuthering Wave's pity system, you are guaranteed to pull a 5-star Resonator from a Character Covene banner after 80 pulls.

Obtain Free Characters from Events
Certain 4-star Resonators can be obtained for free from events in Wuthering Waves. For example, you can get a free copy of Sanhua in the login event called Gifts of Thawing Frost.
