| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Premier Aero Erosion DPS. Cartethyia can make use of Aero Erosion to deal more damage that usual as some of her attacks scales off Aero Erosion. • Can Apply Aero Erosion Herself. Cartethyia applies Aero Erosion by herself so she will not be very reliant on Aero Erosion enablers like Ciaccona. Ciaccona can still push her to new heights, but Cartethyia can stand on her own. • High Skill Ceiling. Cartethyia is a unit that relies on effectively dishing out combos while in Cartethyia and Fleurdelys forms. Though easy to learn, her full potential unlocks on mastery. |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Limited Support Roster. Considering Cartethyia scales off HP, her options for the third-slot support is limited and is usually the Rover. She can still work with Shorekeeper, but only for the Crit and DMG buffs, not the ATK-increasing effects of Rejuvenating Glow. • Really Hard to Buff. There is currently no support sets that increases HP, so Cartethyia's options are limited. She will rely on the support buffs from Gusts of Welkin to maximize her damage. |
Cartethyia is a top-tier DPS that utilizes Aero DMG, Basic Attack DMG, and Aero Erosion DMG. She is an amazing unit that can deal high damage through her combos, while at the same time applying Aero Erosion herself. This lessens her reliance on Aero Erosion enablers, expanding her team composition choices.
Overall, we recommend pulling for Cartethyia because she is a DPS that is future-proof considering she is the only DPS who can maximize both Aero DMG buffs and Aero Erosion DMG buffs.

Cartethyia is the premier Aero DPS that utilizes the power of Aero Erosion. She is also the first DPS character with multipliers that scale off of HP, so her build is very unique. The best build for her is a 4-4-1-1-1 echo configuration, with focus on building balanced crit stats.
Cartethyia does not need that much Aero DMG Bonus because Ciaccona, the sonata effects, the main echo, and her Libration will provide enough so you can focus on building a good 1:2 critical hit ratio. In addition, 1 cost echoes are the only echoes that provide flat HP, so it is very beneficial for Cartethyia.
| Max HP | 48,000 - 50,000 or better |
|---|---|
| Crit Rate | 60% - 70% or better |
| Crit DMG | 250% to 270% or better |
To maximize Cartethyia, you'd want to aim for around 50,000 HP so all the moves she does will hit like a truck. In addition, try to get a 70:270 crit ratio to maximize her critical damage. Note that you'll need to hope for both double crit substats and high crit rolls to make this happen, so patience is key!
| Energy Regen | 115% to 120% |
|---|
Cartethyia will need to activate her Resonance Liberation to transform into Fleurdelys, so she will need ample Energy Regen to have her Liberation up within her rotation. With our testing, she will need 115% to 120% Energy Regen to comfortably do this.
Take note that Energy Regen requirements will mostly depend on team compositions, but having atleast 115% is great.

Without Ciaccona, Cartethyia will need to rely on an additional source of Aero DMG so we'll have to settle for a 4-3-1-1-1 configuration, with the 3-cost having Aero DMG Bonus main stat. You will most likely rely on Sanhua or Aalto in the Sub-DPS role, but they won't be able to use the Gusts of Welkin set so you'll lose out on the additional Aero DMG provision of the set.
In addition, Aero Rover is needed to increase the stack limit of Ciaccona and won't be able to use Gusts of Welkin due to them not being able to apply Erosion themselves. You will really lose out on sources of Aero DMG without Ciaccona, hence the 3-cost Aero DMG Bonus echo required.
You will also need to try and roll perfectly for sub-stats especially if you're using Cartethyia's signature weapon just so you can reach a decent critical hit ratio.
| Main Echo | Explanation |
|---|---|
|
|
・Best option for Cartethyia, as it covers both the Windward Pilgrimage and the Gusts of Welkin sets. ・Provides 20% Aero DMG Bonus to Cartethyia specifically. ・Players are recommended to farm the new Windward Pilgrimage, as it's her best-in-slot Sonata Effect. ・However, you can use Gusts of Welkin if you have it while farming this new set. |
|
|
・Last option for Cartethyia if you don't have Windward Pilgrimage or Gusts of Welkin Echoes. ・She mainly benefits from the Aero DMG provided by this Echo. ・Only use this if you're early into the game without other Echo options. |

★★★ - Best The Erosion DPS set, Windward Pilgrimage, is the undisputed best set for Cartethyia as it provides a virtually guaranteed boost in Crit Rate and Aero DMG Bonus for Cartethyia. This makes her way easier to build, considering her best in slot weapon won't provide any additional crit stat. Recommended Main Echo: |
|
(5-pc) |
★★☆ - 2nd Best If you still don't have Winward Pilgrimage, we can suggest going for a Gusts of Welkin set instead. This provides the same Aero DMG Bonus without the additional Crit Rate boost of Windward Pilgrimage. You should still go for Windward Pilgrimage though, as it is generally much better for Aero Erosion DPS than Gusts of Welkin for Sub-DPS. Recommended Main Echo: |
|
(5-pc) |
★☆☆ - 3rd Best If you still have not reached Rinascita, Sierra Gale is going to be your go-to set. This provides virtually unconditional Aero DMG Bonus by just hitting Intro Skills, but you will not have access to Remembrance: Fleurdelys. When you get to Rinascita, especially Septimont, try farming for Windward Pilgrimage if you can. Recommended Main Echo: |

Defier's Thorn is Cartethyia's best weapon, as it provides tons of HP for our Blessed Maiden. It also ignores Defense and provides virtually guaranteed Aero DMG Bonus for Cartethyia. If you do not have her signature weapon, other five star swords are great like Red Spring and Unflickering Valor that increases Basic Attack DMG.
For the free-to-play option, Guardian Sword is the only one that makes sense. It is the only sword that has HP% main stat which will benefit Cartethyia greatly.

| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
| | Support Replacement Rover (Aero) is an alternative option to Chisa and is a lot more accessible due to being a free unit with a dedicated 5-star weapon. They provide heals, deal some damage, and can increase the number of Erosion stacks by 6, similar to Chisa. |
| | Support Replacement Though Cartethyia doesn't benefit from Rejuvenating Glow due to it mainly buffing ATK, Shorekeeper can still provide additional Crit stats when inside her Stellarealm. In addition, the healing she provides makes Cartethyia a bit more comfortable to play. |
With the introduction of Chisa, Cartethyia's best team is now with her and Ciaccona. She plays the same role as Aero Rover, essentially increasing the number of Erosion stacks that can be applied onto enemies as well as being the Healer for the team.
Chisa provides more consistent heals than Rover (Aero) and can dish out more damage as well. On top of this, she provides a lot of DEF reduction with Havoc Bane and her Outro, easily activated by Resonators that can apply Negative Statuses. She does perform slightly worse than them without Kumokiri, as it gives a 24% All-Type DMG Bonus, whereas Rover's free 5-star weapon amplifies Aero DMG by 10%.
For Ciaccona, she is still the quintessential sub-DPS for Cartethyia. She is the only unit to provide Aero Erosion for her consistently, which is beneficial during her Ultimate, and gives multiple Aero DMG buffs throughout her kit.
| 1 | Let Chisa enter the field and initiate with Resonance Skill. Then, do her Basic Attack string up to Death Snip and follow up with Thread Withdrawn. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Afterwards, cast her Liberation to fill her Forte bar. With her Forte full, enter Chainsaw Mode with her Resonance Skill. During this time, hold her attack button to perform her full Sawring combo. |
| 3 | Chisa will finish with her Sawring - Eradication, which you can then switch to the next Resonator. With her Outro, she increases the maximum number of Aero Erosion stacks to 6. |
| 4 | When Ciaccona enters via her Intro Skill, she will immediately generate 1 Musical Essence and inflict 1 Erosion stack on enemies. Follow this up with 2 Basic Attacks to generate one more Musical Essence and let her do a Solo Concert. Solo Concert: Provides 24% Aero DMG Bonus to all team members. |
| 5 | Do Ciaccona's optimal rotations to build up her Forte and Resonance Energy. Once her Forte Circuit is full, cast a Heavy Attack to group enemies and deal damage. |
| 6 | Next, cast her Resonance Liberation and switch to Cartethyia when her Intro Skill is available. Make sure Ciaccona applies Aero Erosion in her Liberation. |
| 7 | As Cartethyia enters the field, her Intro applies 2 Erosion stacks and summons Sword of Discord. Afterwards, cast 3 BAs to inflict another Erosion stack and summon Sword of Divinity. |
| 8 | Then, cast her Resonance Skill to inflict two more Erosion stacks and summon Sword of Virtue. Once all three Swords are on-field, make a plunging attack to recall them and immediately transform into Fleurdelys using Liberation. |
| 9 | Fleurdelys will be in the Manifest state for 12s. During this time, they cast Resonance Skill to group enemies together. Then, jump in the air to cast Upward Cut and continue with 3 Mid-air attacks. |
| 10 | Afterwards, cast her 2nd Resonance Skill to deal more damage and pull in enemies. Follow this with 3 Basic Attacks to restore Conviction. |
| 11 | Next, cast her Heavy Attack and enhance it by immediately casting Basic Attack after. Follow this with another Basic Attack to bring enemies up in the air with Upward Cut. |
| 12 | Then, cast her second Resonance Liberation to deal great damage in a straight line in front of her. |
| 13 | Lastly, use her Outro Skill to amplify other team members' Aero DMG and switch to Chisa. Repeat until all enemies are defeated. |

| * Moonlit Clouds will not benefit Cartethyia as she does not scale off ATK. That said, we still recommend Moonlit Clouds for its Energy Regen and the damage boost from Impermanence Heron. | |
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
| | Support Replacement Can replace Sanhua in the sub-DPS role, providing Aero DMG Bonus. A bit clunky to use and has longer rotation that Sanhua. |
| | Support Replacement Though it cannot provide HP buffs due to Rejuvenating Glow buffing ATK, Shorekeeper can still provide additional Crit Rate and Crit DMG when inside her Stellarealm. In addition, the healing she provides makes Cartethyia a bit more comfortable to play. |
Cartethyia's non-premium team is composed of Sanhua on the Sub-DPS role to provide additional Basic Attack DMG Amplification and quick rotations, and Aero-Rover on support to provide healing and additional Aero DMG with Bloodpact's Pledge. Rover is chosen over other Supports for its unique Outro Skill that increases the Erosion stacks taken by enemies, benefiting Cartethyia and her kit.
This team would require you to build Erosion stacks in Cartethyia mode, so you will have to weave in between Cartethyia and Fleurdelys mid-combo because the majority of the Erosion application is through the Cartethyia mode. This is more tedious than just relying on Ciaccona to passively provide stacks off-field.
Alternatively, you may also use Aalto to replace Sanhua and Aero-Rover with a Rejuvenating Glow Shorekeeper.
| 1 | Start with Aero Rover and build up their Windstring stacks by doing two rotations of Cloud Burst Dance. Once available, cast Resonance Liberation immediately to fill their Concerto Gauge. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Next, cast transformed skill Unbound Flow and immediately switch to Aalto. With Rover's Outro skill, the max Aero Erosion stacks will increase to 6. |
| 3 | With Sanhua on-field, do his internal rotations and build his Concerto Energy. Once full, activate his Echo skill and transform into Impermanence Heron. |
| 4 | After the initial Echo attack hits, switch immediately to Cartethyia. This will buff Cartethyia's damage dealt, while her Basic Attack DMG is amplified by Sanhua's Outro Skill. |
| 5 | Then, Cartethyia enters the field with her Intro, applying Erosion and summoning Sword of Discord. Cast 3 BAs afterward to inflict another Erosion stack and summon Sword of Divinity. |
| 6 | Next, cast Resonance Skill to apply two more Erosion stacks and summon Sword of Virtue. When all Swords are on-field, do a plunging attack to recall all swords. |
| 7 | With her Resonance Liberation, transform into Fleurdelys and enter the Manifest state for 12s. In this state, group enemies up with your Resonance Skill. Then, cast an Upward Cut and do three Mid-air attacks. |
| 8 | Afterwards, use her 2nd Resonance Skill to deal damage and pull enemies in. Follow this up with 3 Basic Attacks, restoring Conviction. |
| 9 | Revert back to Cartethyia and reapply her Sword Shadow buffs from steps 5 and 6. This will also reapply Aero Erosion on to enemies. Then, transform again to Fleurdelys at no energy cost. |
| 10 | Next, cast Heavy Attack and enhance it with a Basic Attack. After this, do another Basic Attack to bring enemies up in the air with Upward Cut. |
| 11 | Cast her second Resonance Liberation afterward to deal great damage in front of her and revert back to Cartethyia. |
| 12 | Lastly, switch out to Rover and enable her Outro skill, buffing the team's Aero DMG. Repeat until all enemies are defeated. |

Note that the video above is sped up, and Cartethyia's combo can vary as long as you can build up her Conviction to 120 points to cast her second Liberation.
| ① | Enter the field with her Intro to apply two Erosion stacks and summon Sword of Discord. Follow this up with three Basic Attacks to inflict an extra Erosion stack and summon Sword of Divinity. Alternatively, start with a Heavy Attack to summon Sword of Discord. |
|---|---|
| ② | With her Resonance Skill, inflict two more Erosion stacks and summon Sword of Virtue. With all three swords activated, recall them with a Plunging Attack and transform into Fleurdelys with Liberation. |
| ③ | Fleurdelys will be in the Manifest state. During this state, she pulls enemies in with her first Resonance Skill. Then, bring them up in the air using Upward Cut. |
| ④ | Follow this up with three Mid-air Attacks and cast her second Resonance Skill to deal damage and regroup enemies. This can be followed by three Basic Attacks to restore Conviction. |
| ⑤ | Next, cast her Heavy Attack and enhance it with a Basic Attack immediately afterward. Then, do another Basic Attack to cast another instance of Upward Cut. |
| ⑥ | Then, cast her second Resonance Liberation to deal great damage in a straight line, restoring 50% of her HP. Each stack of Aero Erosion will amplify this damage instance by 20% and will be removed in the process. |
| ⑦ | Finally, switch out using her Outro Skill to amplify other team members' Aero DMG. |

Cartethyia summons three Divine Swords in her base form to thoroughly buff Fleurdelys during the Manifest state.
| Cartethyia Form Sword Guide | |
|---|---|
| Raises Aero Erosion stacks to highest of stack count from surrounding enemies during Manifest state. | |
| Aero Erosion DMG is amplified by 50% and damage interval is decreased by 50% for enemies. | |
| Stagnates enemies near Fleurdelys and increases her resistance to interruption. | |
To get the buffs provided by the swords, you must recall them by doing a Plunging Attack. Note that you can absorb them in different instances, as the buffs will only trigger when Cartethyia transforms into Fleurdelys.
As Cartethyia, players can also know if a specific sword is absorbed by checking for a swircling circle behind it. This is a visual indication on which swords will buff Manifest.
Cartethyia can transform into Fleurdelys when her Resonance Liberation is available, buffed by the absorbed swords in her base form. This transformation will unlock new skills and attacks that mostly scale off her HP and Aero Erosion DMG.
If her Conviction is below 120, you can transform back to Cartethyia to activate her Divine Swords. After this, she can re-transform into Fleurdelys with no energy cost.

Fleurdelys is at her strongest during her Manifest state, receiving multiple buffs due to her Sword Shadows. Each absorbed shadow provides different buffs to her skills, including a significant 50% Aero Erosion DMG amplification.
You may also see which swords are buffing the Manifest state, indicated as swords near Fleurdely's side. In this state, deal as much damage as possible against enemies as this lasts only 12s.

While in her Fleurdelys mode, she can transform back into Cartethyia once while her Conviction is below 120 points. Reverting to this form will also pause her Manifest state duration, so use this time to get unabsorbed Sword Shadows or reapply Aero Erosion.
| Walking on Water |
Walking on Air |
When Cartethyia is in her Fleurdelys form, she can walk on water at the cost of STA. Similarly, she can also walk on air while consuming STA.
| Aero Erosion | 20% DMG Amp Per Stack |
|---|
Fleurdelys' second instance of her Resonance Liberation can be cast when Conviction is at 120 points. This powerful straight slash deals Aero DMG and is amplified by 20% per Aero Erosion stack.

As Fleurdelys, 120 Conviction points are required to cast her second Resonance Liberation. Most of her attacks are indicated in her Forte Circuit and Resonance Energy, so be mindful of these while playing in this form.
Cartethyia provides Aero DMG Amplification for other team members through her Outro Skill. The duration for this buff is quite long, being 20s.
Note that this buff requires targets to have Negative Statuses active to work.

This combo efficiently uses Cartethyia's kit to transition from her base form into Cartethyia and vice versa. The full combo is also relatively fast to execute so that you can swap in and out with minimal time.
| Combo |
|---|
| Intro Skill → BA2 to BA4 → Res. Skill → BA (Plunging Attack) |
In Cartethyia, this is the ideal combo for her to summon her stacks and recall them immediately to transform into her Fleurdelys form. Make sure to use Resonance Skill last to automatically be in the air to plunge and activate her Sword Shadows' Manifest buffs.
| Combo |
|---|
| Res. Lib → Res. Skill → BA1 to BA3 (Mid-air) → Res. Skill → BA1 to BA3 → HA → BA (Enhanced Heavy Attack) → BA → Res. Lib → Outro |
Cartethyia's Fleurdelys form is her primary source of damage, so we recommend using this form as soon as possible. Ensure that all her swords are activated before doing this combo to maximize the effects of the Manifest state.
Note that you can revert back to Cartethyia if you do not have all her swords recalled. This will also pause her Manifest state's time, so you can switch out of Fleurdelys and back to fully buff her kit.

| Skill | Priority | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Attack | ★★★★☆ | After her Forte Circuit, Cartethyia's Normal Attack gets second priority. This is where the multipliers of the Cartethyia mode is found, so do not ignore this skill. |
| Resonance Skill | ★★★☆☆ | There is still a big chunk of damage that Cartethyia deals with this skill, so still level this up after the top two priority skills. |
| Forte Circuit | ★★★★★ | Most of Cartethyia's damage is done while in her Fleurdelys mode and considering most of the damage she deals while in that mode is in her Forte Circuit, make sure to level this one up first. |
| Resonance Liberation | ★★★★☆ | The finale attack, Blade of Howling Squall, scales off this skill. Make sure to level this up together with the Normal Attack but not above her Forte in priority. |
| Intro Skill | ★★☆☆☆ | Leveling up the Intro Skill is not bad, but it is not a priority. Only level up this skill after the three more important skills: Forte Circuit, Normal Attack, and Resonance Skill. |

| Why We Recommend It | |
|---|---|
| S1 | ★★★☆☆ - Good Makes it a bit easier to build Cartethyia with the additional Crit DMG provided by this sequence node. |
| S2 | ★★★★☆ - Great This increases the stack limit of Aero Erosion on targets, lessening the Cartethyia's reliance on Aero Rover. In addition, general increases on certain multipliers across her entire kit are added! |
| S3 | ★★★★★ - Amazing The best stopping point for spenders, as this sequence allows Cartethyia to apply Aero Errosion stacks on certain Fleurdelys mode attacks. This lessens her reliance on off-field Erosion applicators by applying it herself. |
| S4 | ★★★☆☆ - Good Provides a general increase on DMG for the entire team, but a bit restrictive as it requires one of the resonators to apply negative status effects. Not required, but good to have. |
| S5 | ★★☆☆☆ - Okay This upgrade is mostly for comfort, as it lessens the chances of getting KO'd. It is OK at most, but not the most important sequence to go for. |
| S6 | ★★★★★ - Amazing The definitive best sequence node for Cartethyia, as it eliminates her reliance on persistent Aero Erosion stacks during her Fleurdelys mode. In addition, this increases the damage dealt by Fleurdelys by another 40%. |
| S1 | Crown Destined by Fate Gain Zeal that lasts for 10s when Cartethyia's or Fleurdelys's attacks directly damage and defeat tagets inflicted with Aero Erosion. In the Zeal state, upon defeating enemies, the next that directly damages targets raises the Aero Erosion stacks ont he targets to the highest count among the targets defeated. This will not exceed the current max Aero Erosion stack limit. Zeal is removed afterward and enters a 1s cooldown. When Fleurdelys's Conviction hits 30/60/90/120, both Cartethyia and Fleurdelys's Crit DMG is increased by 25% for 15s, up to 4 stacks. The duration of this effect does not reset upon gaining new stacks. After casting Resonance Liberation - Blade of Howling Squall, the increased Crit DMG is removed. |
|---|---|
| S2 | Blade Broken by Tempest Casting Resonance Liberation - A Knight's Heartfelt Prayers increases the max stack limit of Aero Erosion on targets within a certain range by 3 stacks. The next attack that directly damages the target inflicts 3 stacks of Aero Erosion on all targets within a certain range and immediately triggers the Aero Erosion DMG on the targets once without consuming the Aero Erosion stacks. The DMG Multipliers of Cartethyia's Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Dodge Counter, and Intro Skill are increased by 50% and the DMG Multiplier of her Mid-air Attack is increased by 200%. After casting Mid-air Attack - Cartethyia, every 1 type of Sword Shadow recalled reduces the cooldown of Resonance Skill - Cartethyia by 1s. |
| S3 | Prisoner Hanged in The Tower Basic Attack - Fleurdelys Stage 5, Mid-air Attack - Fleurdelys Stage 5, Enhanced Heavy Attack - Fleurdelys, and Resonance Skill - May Tempest Break the Tides now inflict 2 stacks of Aero Erosion on the targets hit. The DMG Multiplier of Resonance Skill - Blade of Howling Squall is increased by 100%. |
| S4 | Sacrifice Made for Salvation When Resonators in the team inflict Havoc Bane, Fusion Burst, Spectro Frazzle, Electro Flare, Glacio Chafe and Aero Erosion, all Resonators in the team gain 20% DMG Bonus for all Attributes for 20s. |
| S5 | Hope Reshaped in Storms When Cartethyia or Fleurdelys takes a fatal blow, they will not be downed by this instance of damage, but instead gain a Shield equal to 20% of Cartethyia's Max HP for 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 10 mins. The HP cost for casting Resonance Liberation - A Knight's Heartfelt Prayers is reduced to 25% of Max HP. |
| S6 | Freedom Found in Storm's Wake After casting Resonance Liberation - Blade of Howling Squall, raise the Aero Erosion stacks on the target hit to max. Casting Resonance Liberation - Blade of Howling Squall no longer removes the Aero Erosion stacks on the target. Within 30 seconds after casting Intro Skill - Sword to Mark Tide's Trace, Intro Skill - Sword to Call for Freedom, Resonance Liberation - A Knight's Heartfelt Prayers, and Resonance Liberation - Blade of Howling Squall, when any Resonator in the team inflicts Aero Erosion on the targets with max stacks of Aero Erosion, immediately trigger the Aero Erosion DMG once. The targets take 40% more DMG from Fleurdelys. |
