How Strong is Encore?

Strengths
• Really easy and straightforward to use • Deals a good amount of Fusion DMG • Combos are not hard to understand
Weaknesses
• Needs to be on field and close range during her Ultimate, so she could get one-shot by harder enemies • Outro Skill is not very reliable especially against extremely mobile enemies

Encore is a beginner-friendly Main DPS whose combos are not hard to understand even though it involves some dodge and Skill cancels. However, she only deals a lot of damage when in her ultimate form so Energy Regen is a bit important for her kit!

Encore is a hyper-offensive Fusion DPS unit that relies heavily on dealing damage with her Basic, Heavy, and Resonance Skills especially after using her Ultimate. This build focuses on increasing the Fusion DMG dealt by this character as much as possible.

Encore Best Weapon Explained

Stringmaster is by far the best in slot weapon for Encore. The weapon not only boosts DMG by 12% but also increases ATK after using her Resonance Skill. Unfortunately, the weapon is part of the limited convene with Yinlin so players can only get it if Yinlin's banner is up. If you do not have Stringmaster, you can opt to use Cosmic Ripples as the second best Rectifier for Encore.

Encore's current best team is a Mono Fusion team with Lupa and any of the premium Fusion DPS units. You can run either Brant or Changli as a secondary Main DPS and have Lupa be the primary Sub-DPS with her Fusion-centric buffs.

General Rotation

1	Start off with Lupa's Starfall and activate Resonance Skill twice immediately after. Then, cast her Resonance Liberation to receive Pack Hunt and Glory's team-wide effects.
2	Follow this up with Foebreaker. Generate Wolflame and convert them into Wolfaith with her optimal combos. Once available, perform her Enhanced Resonance Skill and switch to another Resonator. Next Resonator In Changli's team, switch to Encore. In Brant's team, switch to Brant.
3	When either Brant or Encore are on-field, do their optimal combos and maximize the effects of Lupa's Fusion DMG and Basic Attack DMG Amplification. When you use their Liberation, Lupa will also perform a Coordinated Attack.
4	Once Brant or Encore's Outro is available, switch to the next Resonator. Next Resonator In Changli's team, switch to Changli. In Brant's team, switch to Encore.
5	With Changli or Encore on-field, do their internal rotations to deal damage while in Lupa's buff duration. Build their Concerto energy and switch to Lupa once available.
6	Lastly, Lupa will enter the field via her enhanced Intro Skill, Nowhere to Run!.
7	From here, repeat the previous steps until all enemies are defeated.

Encore-Changli Double DPS Team

Verina	Support Replacement Verina is another excellent support unit that can sustain your team with her healing and provide all-type DMG buffs.
Baizhi	Support Replacement If you do not have Shorekeeper or Verina, Baizhi is the next best option since she can buff and heal as well.

This team boasts two main DPS units with Changli and Encore, with the additional effect of boosting Encore's damage through Changli's Outro Skill. Both of the DPS are going to be supported by Shorekeeper's healing and buffs.

Encore will benefit greatly from Changli's Outro Skill that provides Fusion DMG buff, increasing her damage even more. Though Changli will still deal more damage in this setup, Encore can catch up using the buffs provided by Changli.

General Rotation

1	Start the battle with Shorekeeper and build up her Resonance Liberation while charging Concerto Energy. Once both are full, cast her Resonance Liberation first to set up her Stellarealm before swapping to the next Resonator.
2	Swap out to Changli to cast her Intro Skill and immediately gain a stack of Forte.
3	Execute Changli's optimal combos to get 4 stacks of Forte in order to activate her enhanced Heavy Attack. Do this until her Resonance Liberation is ready to use.
4	After casting Changli's Resonance Liberation, use her enhanced Heavy Attack. At this point, the Concerto Energy should be fully charged again. Ideally, switch to Encore to boost her Fusion DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG.
5	Swap back to Shorekeeper once Concerto Energy is full to detonate her Stellarealm for a burst of damage.
6	Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

Encore-Brant Double DPS Team

This team is a similar variant of Changli-Encore dual-DPS team, that's more suited to players who don't have Changli. Generally, Encore gets Fusion and Resonance Skill Buffs from Brant's Outro Skill, which means Encore must always follow Brant swap order!

Shorekeeper provides team-wide buffs and healing, to bump this team's damage to the next level.

General Rotation

1	Start the battle with Shorekeeper and build up her Resonance Liberation while charging Concerto Energy. Once both are full, cast her Resonance Liberation first to set up her Stellarealm before swapping to the next Resonator.
2	Swap out to Brant and try to fill his Resonance Liberation gauge and max out his Bravo points. Once Bravo is full, cast, at least one Returned From Ashes.
3	Then, swap to Encore and execute her optimal combos. Make sure to maximize her DMG output before switching him with Brant.
4	Once Brant is on-field again, cast his Resonance Liberation and enter the Aflame state, and keep on hitting enemies before casting another Returned From Ashes to end it.
5	Swap back to Shorekeeper once Concerto Energy is full to detonate her Stellarealm for a burst of damage.
6	Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

Yangyang	Sub-DPS Replacement Yangyang can funnel energy towards Encore so she can use her Resonance Liberation more frequently.
Sanhua	Sub-DPS Replacement Sanhua amplifies Basic Attack DMG, which is highly beneficial for Encore given that Sanhua is quite accessible.
Yinlin	Sub-DPS Replacement Yinlin's Outro Skill buffs Resonance Liberation DMG, which will increase the damage of Encore's charged Heavy Attack in her ultimate form. Also, since Encore's uses her Basic Attack often, she can maximize proccing Yinlin's Coordinated Attacks.

This team composition focuses on buffing Encore's overall performance in battle using Lupa's multiple buffs that Encore can utilize. You may team them up with any healer you have available.

Alternatively, you may also use Sanhua or Yangyang to go for a more F2P-friendly approach as Sanhua provides excellent Basic Attack DMG amplification, while Yangyang can improve Encore's Liberation uptime.

General Rotation

1	Initiate combat with Lupa and do her optimal rotations to cast her Liberation and activate Pack Hunt and Glory. Use Foebreaker afterwards and generate Wolflame to be converted into Wolfaith.
2	Cast her enhanced Resonance Skill and switch with Encore afterwards. The Outro Skill of Lupa will amplify Encore's Fusion DMG and Basic Attack DMG simultaneously.
3	Use Encore's Resonance Skill to deal damage. If available, use her Ultimate to enter Berserk mode where Encore deals a lot of damage. Also, use the equipped echo when it is off cooldown.
4	Switch to the support to heal the damage taken and provide buffs. Once their Outro Skill is available, switch back to Lupa.
5	Lupa will perform an enhanced Intro Skill that deals good damage.
6	Repeat the steps until all enemies are felled.

Encore Time Stop Team

This team composition revolves around Encore dealing as much damage as possible while the enemy is under the Rover's Time Stop Outro Skill. This maximizes Encore's free hit chance especially after activating her Ultimate.

The healer slot can be filled by Shorekeeper ideally, due to the buff she specifically grants the Rover with her Inherent Skill 2, but Verina or Baizhi will suffice if you don't have her.

General Rotation

1	Rover starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until other character's Resonator icons glow up.
2	When Encore's is fully charged, switch with Encore. The Time Stop Outro Skill of the Rover should trigger, slowing down time for 3s.
3	Use Encore's Resonance Skill to deal damage. If available, use her Ultimate to enter berserk mode where Encore deals a lot of damage. Also, use the equipped echo when it is off cooldown.
4	Switch with Rover again once the Concerto Energy has fully charged. If you need healing, switch with your healer and use their healing Skill for a quick heal.
5	Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

Encore Can Parry in Normal Form

While difficult to execute, Encore can actually parry enemy attacks in her normal form, using her third Basic Attack, as shown above.

How to Parry Successfully

The key to successfully landing the parry is to start the Basic Attack chain a second before the yellow circle shows up on your screen.

With this, you have to know which of the enemy's moves can be parried!

Use Basic Attacks in Normal Form

Wuthering Waves - Encore Basic Attack Animation

While you are still charging Resonance Energy in order to use your Ultimate, Encore's main source of damage should be her 5-part Basic Attack chain.

Do note that the chain can be shortened by dodge canceling or if you use her Resonance Skill at the last leg of the animation, as shown in the Recommended Combos section.

Use Resonance Skill in Normal Form

While in Encore's normal form, you can also use her Resonance Skill to deal damage. Note that you can trigger a follow-up attack when you press the Resonance Skill button again when the white aura around her appears.

Switch During Encore's Resonance Skill

As shown above, after casting Encore's Resonance Skill, you can actually switch out as soon as the animation starts.

This allows you to deal damage using a different character and then switch back to Encore in order to trigger the extra attack at the end!

Immediately Use Encore's Ultimate

Wuthering Waves - Encore Ultimate Animation

Encore deals the most damage when she uses her Ultimate, allowing her to enter the Cosmos Rave state. During Cosmos Rave, almost all of Encore's ability will be enhanced.

Use Enhanced Basic Attack

Wuthering Waves - Encore Enhanced Basic Attack Animation

During Cosmos Rave, Encore transforms into a melee DPS, and her Basic Attack gets enhanced. Like her Basic Attack in her normal form, the enhanced version can also be shortened using the same canceling techniques.

Resonance Skill is Different

Encore's Resonance Skill will also be enhanced in Cosmos Rave. Unlike her Resonance Skill in Encore's normal form, this does not have a follow-up attack!

Use Heavy Attack When Forte is Full

When Encore's Forte Gauge is fully charged, use her Heavy Attack by long pressing the button for Encore's Basic Attack.

While Encore charges the Heavy Attack, swap out to a different character since it takes time to charge. Doing this will not cancel the attack and when it is done, just swap back to Encore.

Do Not Immediately Use in Ultimate Form

Never use Encore's charged Heavy Attack at the start of her Ultimate since it will abruptly end the Cosmos Rave state. Only use it before Cosmos Rave is about to end!

Encore Recommended Combos

Standard Full Combo

Encore's standard full combo maximizes her Resonance Liberation's transformed state to deal as much damage as possible. This makes use of multiple animation cancels, as her Stage 4 attacks have long animations. Use her Resonance Skill and Dodge to deal 3 BA strings for the entire combo before using Heavy Attack into Outro.

Normal Form Basic Attack Combo

Encore's Basic Attack combo in her normal form is pretty simple to do. Just tap the Basic Attack button 5 times. On the fifth attack, dodge in any direction when the white aura around Encore appears.

Doing the cancel allows you to complete Encore's Basic Attack chain a bit faster since you are not committing to Basic Attack: Wooly Strike's full animation.

Resonance Skill Cancelled Basic Attack

Unlike the combo above, this one is harder to execute but will deal more damage to enemies. The idea is to cancel the animation of Encore's fifth attack by casting her Resonance Skill before the white aura appears.

As the animation starts, immediately switch to a different character. Deal damage using their Intro Skill or Basic Attacks, then switch back to Encore to complete her Resonance Skill!

Ultimate Form Basic Attack Combo

Dodge Cancelled Basic Attack

This combo is similar to the Basic Attack combo during Encore's normal form. The only difference is that a white aura will not appear as an indicator for you to cancel the animation. Instead, your cue is when Encore is about to hit the ground before summoning the big sheep!

Resonance Skill Cancelled Basic Attack

For this combo, cast Encore's enhanced Resonance Skill right before Encore hits the ground. Unlike the combo for her normal form, you do not need to switch to a different character because the animation ends quickly.

Encore Skill Priority and Forte List

Skill	Priority	Explanation
Normal Attack	★★☆☆☆	Even though Encore will be consistently using her Basic Attacks, you'll want to use the empowered versions from her Resonance Liberation instead. You'll still want to upgrade this, but it's a low priority when compared to everything else.
Resonance Skill	★★★★☆	Encore's Resonance Skill deals decent damage that adds to her overall DPS potential. While not her primary source of damage, upgrading her Resonance Skill is still recommended after her Resonance Liberation.
Forte Circuit	★★★★☆	As mentioned earlier, you'll want to level up Encore's Forte Circuit alongside her Resonance Skill since they're her secondary sources of damage whenever her Ult isn't active.
Resonance Liberation	★★★★★	Encore maximizes her damage output when she has her Ultimate active. Prioritize upgrading this Skill above everything else since it's the most important ability in her kit.
Intro Skill	★☆☆☆☆	While her Intro Skill isn't bad, it's still the lowest priority upgrade since it isn't an integral part to her damage output.

Encore's damage will come when she is inside her Cosmos Rave mode so it is important to level up her Resonance Liberation first. Afterward, her Forte Circuit and Resonance Skill comes next as secondary damage would come from those Skills.

Though one can argue that part of her damage can come from Basic Attacks outside Cosmos Rave, we don't recommend investing in Normal Attacks before the first three mentioned above. Optimal Encore playstyle should see her be in Cosmos Rave most of the time, so Resonance Liberation is the most important.

Basic Attack: Encore performs up to 4 consecutive attacks, dealing Fusion DMG. S1	★★★★★ - Amazing This is an amazing upgrade to get if since the DMG Bonus will proc on both her regular and Resonance Liberation enhanced Basic Attacks. Even though the stacks aren't permanent, the buff will almost always be active with how many basic attacks Encore uses.
S2	★★☆☆☆ - Okay This is an okay Sequence Node to unlock since Encore is very reliant on having her Ult active. Even though there are other ways to get Resonance Energy, having an extra source of Resonance Energy Regen will allow Encore to use equipment that have more offensive stats instead of ones with Energy Regen%.
S3	★★★☆☆ - Good Since her Forte Skill is one of her secondary sources of damage outside of her ult, this is a good upgrade to unlock so that she won't fully reliant on her Resonance Liberation.
S4	★★★★☆ - Great Encore already gets a solid Fusion DMG Bonus from her first Sequence Node, and being able to further increase that Bonus with this upgrade will make her even stronger. This buff also benefits other Fusion characters on her team, like a Sub-DPS Mortefi for example.
S5	★★★☆☆ - Good Similar to her S3 upgrade, her Resonance Skill is her other secondary source of damage, making this a good upgrade to get so that she isn't fully reliant on her Resonance Liberation.
S6	★★★★★ - Amazing Her S6 upgrade is amazing when compounded on top of every other upgrade you have. In a vacuum it would be considered great at best, but when stacked on top of the other buffs and damage bonuses she gets, this Sequence Node will make Encore a terrifying threat on the battlefield.
