Play Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways
You can easily get Unborn Echoes in the new weekly gamemode, Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways by defeating enemies on stage 7 and 13 specifically. Afterwards you have to spend 60 waveplates, or even 120 if you want double rewards.

Open to Get an Echo of Your Choice
You can get an Echo from a Tacet Field of your choice when you open an Unborn Echo in your backpack. The item also auto-updates to cover newly released Tacet Fields!
Tacet Field Locations and Rewards
Useful For New Sonata Effects
Unborn Echoes are most efficiently used when we have a newly added Sonata Effect in the game. This basically allows you to roll the new Tacet Field that comes with the Sonata Effect, giving you a bunch of echoes without spending waveplates.
This is considering you have a bunch of them in your inventory of course, but you should have a sizable amount with Fantasies of a Thousand Gateways resetting every week.
