Counterattack Often for Both Phases
Scar's boss fight has two phases. Both the Lightbane Reversal and Aberrant Nightmare versions of Scar have several opportunities for Counterattacks to quickly bring down his Vibration Strength.
However, if you miss the timing for some attacks, Scar can punish you with an unblockable barrage of attacks. In his first phase, it's when he's charging up. For the second phase, it will be when he tries to grab you or swings his sword up from the ground.
How to Parry and Counterattack
Avoid Getting Caught by Attacks
Both forms of Scar have attacks that can cover plenty of range. His first form can throw flaming cards with a wide area of effect. The second phase will need you to dodge his long-reaching sword slashes. It's also best to evade if you can't time the counterattacks well to avoid taking excessive damage.
Use Finishing Attacks When Possible
A finishing attack is available for the fight against Scar's Aberrant Nightmare form. Be sure to use it once his Vibration Strength is depleted to deal massive damage to Scar.

Chaotic Juncture: Ember Weekly Challenge

After clearing Act IV of the Main Quests, the Chaotic Juncture: Ember weekly challenge becomes available. This dungeon can be found in Qichi Village, Huanglong, and can be used as a fast travel point. This fight is similar to his mandatory boss fight.
Fought During the Main Quest
Scar can be fought twice during Chapter 1 of the main quest. The first time is an optional battle during Act III if you refuse to gather clues and answer Scar's questions. The second is a forced encounter at the end of Act IV.

As a Weekly Boss, Scar's materials can only be claimed up to three times a week. It also requires 60 Waveplates to claim the rewards after beating the challenge.

i've been making scar fight his demons for 35 minutes. not killing him, just dodging or sitting in the sky with camellya. he is my fav i love him so much
