The mole cricket only spawns underground so be sure to keep an ear out, max your volume, and get your trusty shovel ready to dig out any burrowing mole crickets!
Other crickets just hang around on the ground, so just keep an eye out during evening and you'll be sure to see some!
If all else fails, or if you don't want to run around your island, you can head to a Mysterious Island and use your net to catch some crickets.

You never know when the bug you are searching for might just pop out in front of you on its own, so always keep your net equipped and at the ready!
Crickets can be hard to spot, so make sure to listen closely! Turn up the volume of your Switch and you can hear them chirping away.
Once you hear one, run up to the general direction of the noise until it gets louder and louder. You can then just run up to the bug and press A to catch them!
If you're hunting for mole crickets, be sure to keep your shovel around!
