Certain moths have certain spawn conditions. The moth, for example, only spawns during evening near the bright lights near the entrances of buildings.
The Atlas Moth will spawn only on the trunk of trees, so be sure to approach slowly to not scare them away!
If all else fails, or if you don't want to run around near your trees, you can head to a Mysterious Island and use your net to catch some moths.

You never know when the bug you are searching for might just pop out in front of you on its own, so always keep your net equipped and at the ready!
Certain moths spawn only in certain conditions so make sure that you meet those conditions first!
The moth only spawn flying next to lights during evening, so make sure it's night time
The atlas moth, meanwhile, only spawns on tree trunks during night time so be sure to keep an eye out!
Once you've spotted one, you can just run up to the dragonfly and press A to catch them!
