Tip 1 | Make sure you have palm trees |
---|---|
Tip 2 | Hunt for beetles after 5 PM |
Tip 3 | Chase away other bugs |
Tip 4 | Head to a mystery island and remove all other flowers and trees |
Some of the more expensive beetles only spawn on palm trees, so make sure to plant some on your beach and have your net at the ready during evening!
If you're looking for beetles that spawn on tree stumps, get your axe out and cut down a few trees. In both cases, you can speed up your search by chasing away other bugs that appear, like butterflies or wharf roaches.
If all else fails, or if you don't want to touch the trees on your island, you can head to a Mysterious Island and use your axe, shovel, and fruit or food to dig up every plant but palm trees and hunt for them there.
Step | Direction |
---|---|
1. | Always keep your net
equipped |
2. | Slowly approach beetles that flee easily Tip: Stop moving if the beetle stops moving! |
You never know when the bug you are searching for might just pop out in front of you on its own, so always keep your net equipped and at the ready!
Many rare beetles are quick to flee, so you need to approach them slowly and quietly. You can hold A to hold up your net and move slowly automatically. You can move even slower only tilting the left joy stick lightly.
If the beetle has noticed you approaching, it will sometimes stop moving to “look out”. You need to stop until it starts moving again, then continue to slowly approach it until you're finally in range to catch it!
