3
Equip your Fishing Rod ACNH - Fishing Rod

1. Craft Fish Bait

To easily catch the fish you want, you'll need to craft fish bait! This will help attract more fish instead of just waiting for one to pop out!

2. Check Shadow Size

You'll need to check the shadow size of the fish that appeared and make sure it's similar to the Stringfish.

3. Go Fish!

Once you're sure the fish that appeared has the same shadow size as the fish you want, it's time to prepare your Fishing Rod and go fish!

Stringfish Additional Info

Dialogue When Caught

"OH MY GOSH! I caught a stringfish! Five more and I'll have a guitarfish!"

Dialogue When Donated to Blathers

The stringfish grows slowly, but also lives quite a long time for a fish, with up to 15 years being typical.

Consequently, while it takes a while, they can get quite large—perhaps even up to six feet long!

The stringfish is perhaps the best embodiment in the fish world of 'slow and steady wins the race.'

Shadow was huge but it turned up in a pond, not in the river, not exactly clear in just "above the cliff". make sure to check upper-cliff ponds too!
