Season 5 Leveling Guide (Level 1-50)

How to Level Up from 1 to 50

1. Play on World Tier 2 Instead of World Tier 1

If you are already familiar with the class you are using, it is worth playing on World Tier 2 for the 50% XP boost. However, if you are having a hard time clearing enemies, you can revert to World Tier 1 in Kyovashad.

How to Change World Tier Difficulty

2. Complete the Season 5 Questline

Upon creating your new character for the season, it is highly recommended that you complete the Season 5 Questline to level up your character and receive the crafting materials you need for your World Tier 3 journey. Make sure to finish this before proceeding to higher World Tiers so you don’t need to return to Hellbreach Dungeons later on.

3. Complete Chapter 1-3 of Season Journey

Try to complete the first chapter of the Season Journey, as the tasks are relatively simple and can be accomplished by participating in the world events you encounter while progressing through the Season Questline.

Completing this will reward you with Greater Favor, which will level up your Battle Pass, allowing you to earn rewards that are useful for the early game.

4. Prioritize the Helltide

Diablo 4 - Accursed Rituals
The Helltide should be your main go-to activity for leveling due to its high mob density. The Helltide also now has a threat-level system where waves of enemies will directly spawn in your location. Additionally, participating in the Helltide can grant you Legendary Items, Murmuring Obols, and other crafting resources for upgrading gear and Healing Potion!

5. Complete Hellbreach Dungeons

Diablo 4 - Choose a Hell Caller
Aside from Helltide, you can also complete Hellbreach Dungeons to progress your Season Questline and Mother's Triune more quickly, due to the large amount of Mother's Gift you can receive by completing these dungeons.

These dungeons are fairly easy since they are just introductory dungeons to the Infernal Horde, which is only available in World Tier 3.

6. Clear Out All Strongholds

As soon as you are strong enough, you can start clearing all the Strongholds throughout the map. Completing these Strongholds will also unlock the Gathering Legion spawn points and nearby Dungeons, which are content you might need later in the endgame..

7. Complete Your Class Specialization Quest

Once you reach Level 15 (or Level 25 if you're a Necromancer or a Sorcerer), make sure to immediately complete your Class Specialization Quest to unlock additional buffs that make leveling easier. Don’t delay, as these Class Specializations can significantly affect your character's performance.

8. Use the Urn of Aggression Season Blessing

As soon as you unlock your first Smoldering Ashes from the Battle Pass, immediately use them on the Urn of Aggression to receive the 5% XP boost from monster kills. It is highly recommended to max out this blessing first before moving on to other blessings if you haven't reached level 100 yet. You can swap it out later and respecc to a different blessing once you hit the max level.

9. Complete Whispers for the Tree of Whispers

Tree of Whispers
As you participate in Helltide Events, you will accumulate Grim Favors, which you can turn in at the Tree of Whispers to receive a Reward Cache and a ton of XP. Make sure to keep track of this for maximum efficiency.

10. Complete the Capstone Dungeon at Level 40-48

Diablo 4 - Cathedral of Light Map Location
Once you hit Level 40 to 48, complete the Capstone Dungeon to unlock World Tier 3 for your seasonal character. More experienced players can try their hand at completing the capstone dungeon as soon as they hit Level 40, while newer players can probably wait until they hit Level 48 and have a gear set and build ready for the challenge.

Players who find themselves stuck while trying to complete the dungeon can continue farming for better gear until they become more comfortable with their current build.

Season 5 Leveling Guide (Level 50-75)

How to Level Up from 50 to 75

1. Complete the Eyes of the Enemy Questline

As soon as you unlock World Tier 3, go to Zarbinzet in Hawezar and find Locran to start the Eyes of the Enemy Questline. This questline is fairly easy and also unlocks the new dungeon called the Infernal Horde. Try to have a full set of sacred equipment before completing this quest to prepare yourself for the Infernal Horde.

2. Prioritize Completing Infernal Hordes

The Infernal Horde is the new rogue-like dungeon where you can earn a ton of XP by defeating waves of enemies. Make sure to prioritize this dungeon as soon as you complete the Eyes of the Enemy Questline and use all your Infernal Compasses to boost your level. This is also a great opportunity to obtain the Aspects you need for your build, as you will receive a substantial reward at the end of the dungeon.

3. Participate in Helltides and Blood Maiden Event

Diablo 4 - Defeating the Blood Maiden
At World Tier 3, the Helltide should still be your main go-to activity for leveling if you run out of Infernal Compasses for running Infernal Hordes. The rewards that you obtain from this can help you push to World Tier 4.

The best activity during the Helltide is the Accursed Ritual event, which spawn waves of enemies and the Blood Maiden. Pair this event with the Profane Mindcage which raises the enemy level by 10, and you're all set for leveling.

Additionally, you can use your Aberrant Cinders to open Mystery Chests, which may contain more Infernal Compasses.

How to Beat Blood Maiden

4. Complete Chapter 4 of Season Journey

Before heading to World Tier 4, make sure to complete Chapter 4 of your Season Journey, as some of the objectives require you to play on World Tier 3. This will also better prepare your character due to the cache rewards you will receive for completing the chapter.

How to Complete Season 5 Journey

5. Start Running Sacred Nightmare Dungeons

Alternatively, you can start running Sacred Nightmare Dungeons to level up the Glyphs for your Paragon Board. Completing Sacred Nightmare Dungeons also has a chance to drop Infernal Compasses, but this should be your last resort if you prefer to wait for the Helltide to reset.

3. Farm Uber Bosses

To finalize your build, you should also start farming Uber Bosses to obtain the Unique Equipment that could synergize with your builds. You can also use this opportunity to hunt for Uber Uniques, which can drop by killing Duriel and Andariel.

4. Run the Pit of Artificers

The Pit is a pinnacle activity that has enemies with level 100 and above. You're bound to do this activity as it the only area where you can farm the materials for Masterworking (upgrading) your Items's affixes. The Pit can be unlocked by clearing a Tier 46 or above Nightmare dungeon. Dungeons in these tiers will grant you Rune Shards that are used to enter The Pit.

5. Run High Tier Infernal Horde

Now that you’ve reached the endgame, you can start pushing for higher-tier Infernal Horde by upgrading your Infernal Compasses with Abyssal Scrolls. Be aware that each tier of this dungeon significantly increases the strength of the enemies, making it extremely difficult to finish if you are underprepared. However, the rewards at higher tiers are substantially better.
