Season 6 Leveling Guide (Level 1-30)

How to Level Up from 1 to 30

1. Decide on A Leveling Build

Decide on a leveling build to carry your character throughout your season 6 journey. Although it's ideal to choose a build you're comfortable with, it's best to choose an efficient build that can help you clear mobs faster.

2. Play on Hard Difficulty

It is worth playing on Hard difficulty for the 75% XP boost. However, if you are having a hard time clearing enemies, you can revert to Normal difficulty in Kyovashad or Cerrigar.

3. Complete the Vessel of Hatred Campaign

If you have the Vessel of Hatred expansion you can progress its Campaign to level up fast and easily. The expansion campaign is a viable option for Season 6 as it released at the same time.

It's best to take advantage of the campaign as the XP you gain comes from completing objectives instead of defeating monsters, making it significantly faster and easier.

If you do not have the expansion, your best activities for leveling are the Helltide, Tree of Whispers, and Realmwalkers!

4. Complete Chapters 1-3 of Season Journey

Try to complete the first chapter of the Season Journey, as the tasks are relatively simple and can be accomplished by participating in the world events you encounter while progressing through the Season Questline.

Completing this will reward you with Greater Favor, which will level up your Battle Pass, allowing you to earn Smoldering Ashes that are useful for leveling.

5. Use the Urn of Aggression Season Blessing

As soon as you unlock your first Smoldering Ashes from the Battle Pass, immediately use them on the Urn of Aggression to receive the 5% XP boost from monster kills. It is highly recommended to max out this blessing first before moving on to other blessings if you haven't reached level 60 yet. You can swap it out later and respecc to a different blessing once you hit the max level.

6. Prioritize the Helltide

Diablo 4 - Accursed Rituals
The Helltide should be your main go-to activity for leveling due to its high mob density. The Helltide also now has a threat-level system where waves of enemies will directly spawn in your location. Additionally, participating in the Helltide can grant you Legendary Items, Murmuring Obols, and other crafting resources for upgrading gear and Healing Potion!

7. Clear Out All Strongholds

As soon as you are strong enough, you can start clearing all the Strongholds throughout the map. Completing these Strongholds will also unlock the Gathering Legion spawn points and nearby Dungeons, which are the content you might need later in the endgame.

8. Complete Your Class Specialization Quest

Once you reach Level 15 (or Level 25 if you're a Necromancer or a Sorcerer), make sure to immediately complete your Class Specialization Quest to unlock additional buffs that make leveling easier. Don’t delay, as these Class Specializations can significantly affect your character's performance.

9. Complete Whispers for the Tree of Whispers

Tree of Whispers
As you participate in Helltide Events, you will accumulate Grim Favors, which you can turn in at the Tree of Whispers to receive a Reward Cache and a ton of XP. Make sure to keep track of this for maximum efficiency.

How to Level Up from 50 to 75

1. Complete the Hatred Rising Questline

Crusader Damond Location

As soon as you can clear dense mob groups, go to Zarbinzet in Hawezar and find Crusader Damond to start Creeping Hatred. This questline will introduce you to the Realmwalkers that appear throughout Sanctuary allowing you to farm the mobs they spawn for XP, and grant you access to the Seething Realm.

2. Hunt Realmwalkers and Complete Seething Realms

Realmwalker Location

Realmwalkers are tough world events that appear throughout Sanctuary. These hulking creatures spawn a ton of mobs for you to kill, and bringing it down gives you access to the Seething Realm, making it worth your while when farming XP.

The Seething Realm is a two-part Dungeon that can only be accessed by defeating a Realmwalker. Though the rewards at the end of the dungeon may be a bit underwhelming, its high mob density makes it ideal for XP farming.

3. Participate in Helltides and Blood Maiden Event

Diablo 4 - Defeating the Blood Maiden
At Expert and Penitent difficulty, the Helltide should still be your main go-to activity for leveling due to the huge XP boost taken from opening Tortured Chests.

The best activity during the Helltide is the Accursed Ritual event, which spawns waves of enemies and the Blood Maiden. This activity allows you to stack on Aberrant Cinders which you can use to open Mystery Chests.

2. Finish Season Journey

Completing the requirements for the Season Journey, or at least most of it should be pretty easy upon reaching this point in the game. You should prioritize completing this to get the reward caches that contain the summoning materials for Uber Bosses.

3. Run the Pit of Artificers

Once you gain access to the Pit, try to push higher tiers to max out the level of the Glyphs for your Paragon Board. The Pit is also an ideal activity for leveling beyond level 60 as it grants a ton of XP when completed, allowing you to skip Paragon Levels in some cases.

4. Run Infernal Hordes

Once you reach Torment difficulty, you can start doing Infernal Hordes by using Infernal Compasses which can be obtained from Nightmare Dungeons.

Although the Infernal Hordes is an ideal activity for leveling up, your main goal for this activity is to acquire Ancestral Legendary gear which can help you push your build further. The Spoils of Greater Equipment guarantees Ancestral Legendary items for 200 Aether.
