Yes, You Should Always Make Seasonal Characters

Diablo 4 - New Characters Needed for Every Season

Players who wish to participate in the Season of the Malignant are required to create a new character on the new Seasonal Realm. Existing characters in the Eternal Realm cannot be used in seasons.

Making new characters ensures that players will have a similar start for the Season Journey.

No Disadvantages for Participating in a Season

Diablo 4 - No Disadvantages for Participating in a Season

There are no downsides for playing in a season as it includes all the content of the base game as well as the new seasonal content. Seasonal characters are not deleted at the end of the season, so making a character in the Eternal Realm will essentially make you miss out on the new seasonal content.

The only reason to make a character in the Eternal Realm would be to try to experience what Diablo 4 was like at launch if you want to try it in a pure form, but there is no in-game benefit of doing so.

Seasonal Characters Progress Seasonal Journey and Battle Pass in the Campaign

According to Rod Fergusson's Tweet, seasonal characters can be used to play the campaign, while still being able to progress through the Season Journey and Battle Pass.

This is another reason to create a seasonal character even if you have not completed the campaign yet.
