No, it has to be with the same type of flower - ypu can’t breed lilies with windflowers. Maybe it was a cross-pollination possibility that wasn’t listed?
Hybrid flowers can contain recessive genes in their code (like irl flowers) that can result in some random flower colors. Seeds from Leif or the shop will always have two genes of the same color (like a red rose bag will have Rr gene.) I somehow have gotten Pink Lillies from Red Lillies standing on their own. The Pink Lillies are in contact with Pink Windflowers though. Is it possible that cross breeding is possible with different types of flowers?

I agree. I’ve consistently (3+ days now) gotten pink roses just from crossing reds from seed bags.
I've gotten pink and orange roses from black and pink roses. It seems to be very random.
Can anyone help me I just need any mums, lilies and cosmo. It could be bags of seeds or already grow that you have extra. Also missing peaches. Will trade
can a pair of flowers only create a hybrid flowers once? cause im not sure if im doing it wrong but I only get 1/2 results from around 10 flowers
Pink lilies from my red only patch i was using to try to get black lilies - so 2 red can make pink.
Red+red roses =pink too Orange + pink roses= purple orange+orange Or purple = white
I got a Purple Pansy with 2 Blue Pansy that I found on an island.
I got a Black Rose with some Red Roses randomly planted xd, also Pink Tulips with Red and White Tulips :)
White and whit pansies make blue pansies
Flowers appear randomly on islands(including your own.) The nook shop will sell you seeds if you're looking for specific flowers. You can also obtain different flowers from flying to other nook islands using your miles ticket.. You need to water them every day with a watering can in order to produce hybrids. It's just a chance at them sprouting the next day.
Got a Pink-Windflower plant with an Orange and Red one next to each other
I got orange cosmos from yellow & red, pink cosmos from red & white
so confusing
